Job Responsibilities

This is position is located in EEMS Training & Staff Department, Statewide.

This is an in-office role and not a telecommute or remote position

Are you the One? We are looking for an Eligibility Coach who will coordinate, plan and deliver training for Eligibility Enrollment and Member Services (EEMS). Delivers training and development plan complete with instructor- led and on-line materials, instructions, and learning resources needed to improve employee training and performance. Stays current on EEMS process and policy changes and the latest tools, techniques, technology, and resources needed to improve employee training and performance.

  • Deliver EEMS training to support timely and accurate eligibility decisions. Trains eligibility workers, Supervisors and admin staff regarding Medicaid policies & procedures as well as systems. Conducts ongoing training through a combination of distance learning, one on one instruction and instructor led learning. Provides course assessments to each trainee.
  • Improve EEMS training processes and material as necessary. Tracks, compiles, and reviews collected data from trainee surveys, course feedback, course assessments and provides weekly status. Follows common methodology and standard training developments processes.
  • Attend staff meetings and trainings to stay abreast of agency policies and procedures to include train-the-trainer. Serve as a liaison with agencies who serve the Medicaid population. Represent Eligibility, Enrollment and Member Services on various committees and participate in events or projects that promote the mission of the agency. Stays current with workflow by processing a minimum of 3 cases a month when not assigned to a training track.
  • Other related duties.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

A High School Diploma and five (5) years of Medicaid Eligibility experience.

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered with prior State Human Resources approval.

Preferred Qualifications: A bachelors degree and at least two (2) years relevant program experience. Proficient computer skills, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel), and instructional software, strong project management and organization skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, schedules and timelines. Candidate must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Additional Requirements:

  • Occasional overnight travel.
  • Requires holder to drive routinely.
  • Overtime and/or weekend work with Deputy approval.
  • Sitting or standing for long periods of time.
  • Lifting requirements: 20 lbs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of instructional best practices and adult-learning methods, principles, and practices.
  • Good interpersonal skills including establishing and maintaining effective working relationships, encouraging staff, providing feedback, mentoring, and leading.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written) with eligibility staff and all levels of management.
  • Strict adherence to training philosophy, processes and materials.
  • Ability to analyze problems, identify solutions, and implement improvements.
  • Certification from talent of training associations a plus.
