The Program Coordinator plays a key role in supporting research, scholarly, and funded activities by providing organizational and coordination support across a various portfolio of initiatives. The Program Coordinator serves as a central resource for grant development, manuscript preparation, protocol development, and project coordination.

    Within Neuro-Oncology, the Program Coordinator supports the Director of Clinical Research by coordinating activities, maintaining project organization, and facilitating communication across multiple initiatives. UT MD Anderson is committed to advancing innovative research and scientific discovery that improves outcomes for patients worldwide.

    The ideal candidate will have familiarity with reference management software such as EndNote, Zotero, or Mendeley, along with prior co-authorship on academic publications. Experience supporting the development and submission of manuscripts, research protocols, or grant applications is highly desirable, demonstrating strong scientific writing, organization, and research coordination skills.

    Responsibilities

    Research Coordination

    • Coordinate activities across the Director's research initiatives to support alignment and timely progress
    • Track timelines, milestones, and deliverables as directed by the Director
    • Maintain project tracking tools and supporting documentation
    • Organize research meetings and document action items and follow-up tasks

    Grant & Funding Support

    • Track funding opportunities and submission deadlines aligned with Director priorities
    • Assist with the preparation and assembly of grant applications
    • Coordinate collection of required materials from collaborators
    • Support grant progress reports, renewals, and related correspondence

    Manuscript & Protocol Support

    • Serve as the organizational backbone for manuscript and protocol development
    • Conduct directed literature searches to support scholarly work
    • Assist with preparation of tables, figures, and supporting materials
    • Coordinate manuscript and protocol submission and revision processes
    • Support abstract and poster development for scientific meetings

    Program Support

    • Provide organizational and coordination support to the Director of Clinical Research across research, scholarly, and funded activities
    • Support coordination across multiple initiatives as directed by the Director
    • Facilitate the organization of project documentation and deliverables
    • Assist in maintaining progress and communication across research-related activities

    EDUCATION:

    Required: Bachelor's Degree

    Preferred: Master's Degree

    EXPERIENCE:

    Required: Three years related experience, including program/project coordination experience. One year required experience with Master's degree. May substitute required education degree with additional years of equivalent experience on a one-to-one basis.

    Preferred: Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. clinical or academic research experience. Familiarity with reference management software (EndNote, Zotero, Mendeley). Prior co-authorship on academic publications. Experience supporting manuscripts, protocols, or grant submissions.
