Program Coordinator (NORC)Hourly Rate: $29.705FLSA Status: Non-ExemptProgram: NORC Queensview/North Queensview Reports to: Program DirectorPosition Type: Hourly (Non-Exempt)Work Schedule: Monday–Friday: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PMAbout HANAC, Inc.HANAC, Inc. – originally founded by George Douris as the Hellenic American Neighborhood Action Committee – is a New York City-based multi-faceted social services organization. The organization was founded in 1972 to serve the needs of vulnerable populations throughout New York City.Job Summary: Assists the Program Director with implementing program policies andservices to the program's clients. Responsible for maintaining program's records and reports. Answering phones in a professional manner and scheduling appointments. Assisting Program Director with general inquires.Essential Functions:
  • Input data into HANAC data program and assist Program Director with DFTA STARS database input.
  • Interviewing clients for needs assessment (can be done by phone or in office).
  • Providing case assistance in acquiring and completing required forms and gathering verification information for as needed.
  • Follow up client's cases on regular basis to assure resolution of issues identified as well as identify possible new issues.
  • Attend required training, in-house or at other venues, to keep abreast of laws, regulations, services, and issues affecting defined clientele.
  • Maintaining case service log for documenting time, issues, and resolutions.
  • Computer entry of program required statistics.
  • Attending staff meetings with the Program Director.
  • Follow established on-site safety and emergency procedures.
  • Creating the monthly newsletter and emailing it to clients.
  • Excellent communication skills including oral and written with ability to work with clients in crisis.
  • In absence of Program Director, assume supervisory duties.
  • Other tasks as may be required and needed.
Qualifications:
  • Associate's Degree or higher and demonstrated experience working in social services.
  • Must be flexible, detail-oriented, responsible, reliable, professional, able to work as a team member, and contribute to a positive work environment.
  • Must be able to multi-task and take initiative.
  • Bilingual fluency (English/Spanish or English/Greek) highly preferred.
