Position Overview:
  • This is an entry level position with our ideal consultant being a results-driven team player with energy in a fast-paced environment.
  • This role will support the Environmental Justice department to help plan and execute external-facing events and programs.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist with all aspects of event logistics, including venue selection, vendor management, attendee travel, and onsite coordination, to ensure flawless execution on event day.
  • Maintain & coordinate calendars, manage attendee lists, prepare name badges and conference materials, and manage event registrations.
  • Supporting communication with community partners, vendors, local organizations, and internal staff.
  • Process event-related invoices, update registration reports, and maintain accurate records for post-event evaluation.
  • Track and update internal spreadsheets and documents related to program / event metrics and budget tracking.
  • Assist in procurement activities including purchase requisitions.
  • Coordinate catering and giveaway orders to support educational programs.
  • Support collection, organization and disbursement of promotional and collateral materials.
  • Prepare space for in-person NYPA events, coordinate with AV team, facilities.
  • Support preparation of written reports & presentations for management.
  • Works in a flexible role that requires pivoting across priorities and managing diverse tasks as needed.

Skills:
  • Highly effective verbal, written & presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work in diverse communities, understanding ethnic, social and economic issues.
  • High degree of motivation, with the ability to handle competing priorities, while demonstrating a high level of attention to detail.
  • Ability to undertake travel, weekend and evening work to coincide with community events and workshops.
  • Experience in community outreach is preferred.
  • Ability to carry materials to and from events.
  • Proficient in data analytics & GIS.
