ABOUT BENNETT COLLEGE: Bennett College is a historically Black liberal arts college for women in Greensboro, NC. Bennett College offers the biology major/minor and chemistry minor and is launching majors in public health and health sciences in fall 2026. GENERAL SUMMARY: Bennett’s BSPH curriculum combines an interdisciplinary core with concentration pathways and is distinguished by quantitative rigor, applied public health analytics, and a mission-driven emphasis on health equity and the health of Black women. The program includes coursework in epidemiology, health policy and systems, social determinants of health, community or population health, program planning and evaluation, practicum, capstone, and concentration areas such as community health and equity, perinatal and child health, mental health advocacy and policy, and epidemiology and disease prevention. Bennett College invites applications for a full-time faculty appointment in Public Health to serve as Founding Program Director for the Bachelor of Science in Public Health (BSPH). The successful candidate will provide academic leadership for the program, teach core undergraduate public health courses, support curriculum implementation and assessment, advise students, and work collaboratively with adjunct faculty and community partners to build a distinctive program centered on health equity, Black women’s health, and data-informed public health practice. Rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The College welcomes applications from candidates prepared for appointment at the assistant or associate professor level.
