Position Title: Vocational Program Director at Prospect Meadow Farm

Fulltime

Location: Hatfield, Massachusetts

Salary : $52,000.00 annually

ServiceNet's Prospect Meadow Farm is a nonprofit social enterprise working farm and vocational training program that empowers physically, mentally, developmentally, and economically challenged individuals to find meaningful activity through work in agriculture and trade related fields. Over 100 individuals receive year-round vocational training and paid employment at Prospect Meadow Farm and its affiliated café, the Rooster Café. Farming on over 10 acres, Prospect Meadow Farm specializes in shiitake mushrooms, local eggs, and mixed vegetables.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee program and vocational training.
  • Ensure program is effective and use best practices in therapeutic vocational training.
  • Work directly with trainees in assessment, goal setting and planning for guidance and support needed.
  • Oversee day-to-day farm and related social enterprises operations.
  • Ensure farm and social enterprise operations are in compliance with regulations in services provided, safety and agriculture.
  • Engage with the community, families of trainees, local organizations and other businesses as directed by Vice President of Vocational Services.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of the vocation training program on a regular basis and provide reports to the Vice President of Vocational Services.
  • Manage the programs expenses and communicating any unexpected expenses or concerns in a timely manner.
  • Maintain preparedness to handle emergencies or crises with immediate support and coordinating with other professionals when needed.
  • Supervise and support job coaches and other staff members including hiring, training, scheduling and performance evaluations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in a relevant field (such as human services, agriculture, or vocational education) preferred.
  • Two or more years of experience managing a team in a human services program or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to pass comprehensive background checks (CORI/SORI/OIG/DPPC/Fingerprint).
  • Ability to connect with people.
  • A deep belief in the potential of every human being.
  • Excellent communication, computer and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of DDS regulations (115 CMR 7.00) and person-centered planning principles applicable to vocational and employment support services.
  • Must possess a valid drivers license, held for a minimum of six months.
  • Maintain valid state-mandated minimums for personal auto insurance.
  • Reliable personal transportation is required.
  • Must meet Physical requirements in mobility, movement, endurance, climate tolerance, mechanical operations, vision and hearing.
