The Program Director serves as both an academic leader and educator, preparing students for successful careers in diagnostic medical sonography and medical imaging.Key ResponsibilitiesProgram LeadershipLead and manage all aspects of the Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program.Ensure compliance with institutional, accreditation, and regulatory standards.Maintain program effectiveness through ongoing assessment and continuous improvement activities.Develop strategic initiatives to enhance program quality and student outcomes.Coordinate program reviews and accreditation preparation activities.Collaborate with campus leadership and academic departments.Curriculum and InstructionDevelop, evaluate, and update curriculum to meet current industry standards.Ensure course content reflects advances in sonography, vascular imaging, and echocardiography.Create and maintain syllabi, lesson plans, assessments, and instructional materials.Deliver classroom, laboratory, and clinical instruction.Promote student engagement through innovative teaching methods and hands-on learning experiences.Student SuccessMentor and advise students throughout their educational journey.Monitor student progress, retention, attendance, and academic performance.Provide individualized coaching and academic support.Prepare students for certification examinations and employment opportunities.Foster professionalism, critical thinking, and clinical competency.Clinical Education & Employer PartnershipsDevelop and maintain relationships with healthcare facilities and clinical affiliates.Oversee clinical placements and externship experiences.Collaborate with employers, advisory board members, and healthcare leaders to ensure graduates meet workforce needs.Evaluate clinical education effectiveness and student performance.Faculty DevelopmentSupport, coach, and mentor faculty members.Promote instructional consistency across courses and campuses.Coordinate faculty training and professional development activities.Participate in faculty meetings, convocation, and institutional committees.Minimum QualificationsThe Program Director of Diagnostic Medical Sonography oversees the development and monitors the delivery of academic programs and is responsible for ensuring a quality education for students in their programs.
