Summary:

The Program Director Education will have an active role in the overall development of the simulation program. The Director will be a highly motivated individual responsible for managing system-wide operations of the simulation program. The Director will have an active role in designing, developing, implementing and evaluating curriculum and educational programs for a variety of health care professionals.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop educational methodology for clinical assessment purposes
  • Schedule Simulation Center activities, including training sessions, meetings, and tours as necessary
  • Conduct faculty recruitment, management, retention, training, and performance improvement
  • Develop or modify clinical cases and assessment tools such as checklists, patient perception surveys, and post simulation station tests
  • Work with content experts, learners, and others in the coordination and implementation of educational and assessment activities
  • Develop educational materials for use such as training manuals, necessary references, and videos
  • Develop, write and execute simulation cases and materials with content experts from all relevant areas
  • Participate in teaching-related activities as follows; runs scenarios for participants
  • Design and manage simulator program advertising and information dissemination, including brochure and web site development
  • Conduct overall planning and implementing educational and assessment activities
  • Collect educational and assessment data for analysis
  • Utilize a working database of clinical cases, faculty/clinicians involved in clinical assessment and all other relevant information
  • Train and educate faculty on the use of simulation as part of educational curriculum
  • Develop evaluation tools with special attention to validity and reliability issues
  • Produce other materials necessary for educational evaluations and simulation activities
  • Participate in planning, organization, and implementation of clinical assessment evaluations
  • Ensure accurate maintenance of all education and training records (simulator use, instructor and student hours) assuring compliance with accreditation standards
  • Conduct simulator research data collection, management and analysis
  • Maintain data confidentiality and security
  • Attend, participate, and lead meetings regarding the evaluation and ongoing development of projects
  • Co-author publications about projects
  • Attend and present at national meetings/forums related to performance assessment and education
  • Write technical and annual reports
  • Work with faculty on using state of the art simulation tools

Requirements:

  • Master of Science in Nursing required
