Description

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Program Director, EHR Implementation to lead a complex and high-profile healthcare transformation initiative. This role will oversee the deployment of a unified enterprise EHR across a large provincial healthcare environment operating on a single shared instance.

The Program Director will serve as the executive leader responsible for end-to-end deployment governance, coordination of multiple implementation teams and subcontractors, customer executive engagement, operational readiness, and measurable program outcomes. The ideal candidate combines large-scale healthcare IT deployment expertise with exceptional leadership, communication, and change management skills in both English and French Canadian.

This role requires a leader who can balance strategic oversight with operational execution while ensuring evidence-based best practice workflows, adoption, quality, compliance, and stakeholder alignment across a highly matrixed environment.

The Program Director will play a critical role in enabling operational transformation, improving caregiver experience, and supporting better patient outcomes at scale.

Executive Program Leadership

  • Provide executive oversight for a multi-year enterprise EHR deployment program
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for program risks, dependencies, and executive decision-making
  • Establish and maintain trusted relationships with senior healthcare executives, operational leaders, clinical leadership, vendor partners, and subcontractors
  • Lead executive steering committee meetings, governance forums, and operational review sessions
  • Present program status, risks, milestones, financials, and readiness metrics to executive leadership and customer governance bodies.

Program & Deployment Governance

  • Direct integrated program governance across internal teams, customer organizations, subcontractors, and third-party partners

  • Ensure alignment to contractual commitments, implementation methodology, and deployment standards

  • Oversee enterprise project planning, milestone management, dependency tracking, and risk mitigation

  • Ensure consistent program controls including:

  • Scope management

  • Change control

  • Financial oversight

  • Issue escalation

  • Resource planning

  • Compliance reporting

  • Drive accountability across all participating organizations.

Workflow & Operational Transformation

  • Champion evidence-based and standardized best practice workflows across clinical, financial, and operational domains.

  • Partner with healthcare executives and operational leaders to align future-state workflows with strategic objectives

  • Ensure implementation decisions prioritize:

Team Leadership & Partner Coordination

  • Third-party consulting organizations

  • Coordinate activities across the prime vendor and multiple subcontractors to ensure unified execution

  • Foster a collaborative, accountable, and outcomes-focused culture

  • Mentor and develop program and project leadership resources.

Readiness, Adoption & Outcomes

  • Establish measurable program KPIs and readiness criteria across all implementation phases

  • Monitor and report on deployment outcomes including:

  • Project milestone attainment

  • End-user readiness

  • Ensure structured go-live readiness reviews and post-implementation stabilization governance

  • Maintain program compliance with contractual obligations and organizational governance requirements
  • Ensure quality assurance processes are integrated throughout all phases of deployment
  • Support audit readiness and executive reporting requirements.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Information Systems, Business, Nursing, or related field
  • 5+ years of progressive leadership experience managing large-scale healthcare IT or EHR implementations
  • Proven experience directing enterprise or multi-organization EHR deployment programs
  • Demonstrated success managing complex vendor and subcontractor relationships
  • Executive-level presentation and facilitation experience
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare operations, clinical workflows, and healthcare transformation initiatives
  • Experience leading governance and steering committee structures
  • Exceptional organizational, communication, negotiation, and leadership skills
  • Fluency in both English and French Canadian (written and verbal) is required
  • Ability to travel extensively as required by the program.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience deploying enterprise EHR solutions within large public healthcare systems
  • Knowledge of integrated care delivery models and enterprise workflow standardization strategies
  • Familiarity with evidence-based content governance and change management methodologies
  • PMP, PgMP, Prosci, Lean, Six Sigma, or related certifications
  • Clinical or operational healthcare background preferred.

Hiring salary range: $90,000-120,000 per year.

Actual salary will be determined based on an individual's skills, experience, education, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
