    Job Description

Board certification in Family Medicine and graduation from an ACGME-accredited residency program required to be considered for this position.

    About Christ Community Health Services

Since 1995, Christ Community Health Services (CCHS) has provided high-quality healthcare to the underserved in the context of distinctively Christian service. As a faith-based Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), we serve the medically underserved of Memphis and Jackson, TN, offering primary care, dental, behavioral health, pharmacy, and specialty services - including oral and mental health/substance abuse services - regardless of a patient's ability to pay.

    About the Role

CCHS is seeking a Program Director to lead our new ACGME-accredited Family Medicine Residency Program. The Program Director (PD) provides physician leadership for the program's educational strategy and research activities, overseeing grant development; residency budget and policy development; recruitment; and resident training, including curriculum development and evaluation, resident evaluation and remediation, and resident scholarly activity. The PD also provides direct clinical care as a board-certified family physician within a team-based primary care setting.

Residency Mission: To educate and train generations of family physician leaders specializing in underserved care, in the context of distinctively Christian service. Trainees will be equipped to address health system disparities by providing integrated, radically compassionate, cross-cultural, high-quality care in Jesus's name.

Our Core Values - and What They Look Like in This Role

As a faith-based Federally Qualified Health Center, CCHS expects every team member to embody our core values in daily practice. These values are explicit, measurable performance expectations - how the work is done matters as much as what is done. Here is what they mean for a Program Director:

    • Intentional Love - Extending compassionate, whole-person care to every patient, family member, and colleague. In this role it means leading with the same compassion you expect from your faculty and residents, so the value is modeled from the top of the program down.
    • Devoted Service - Approaching every responsibility with humility, reliability, and a servant's heart. In this role it means showing up reliably for residents, faculty, and patients alike - from accreditation paperwork to bedside teaching.
    • Humble Excellence - Pursuing the highest standard of clinical and professional quality while remaining teachable and Christ-centered. In this role it means building a program that meets the highest ACGME standards while staying open to feedback and continual growth.

Employees in this role are expected to model these values in patient interactions, team collaboration, and community engagement, in support of CCHS's healing ministry.

    What You'll Do

    • Provide residency education administration, including general oversight of all curricular areas of the program.
    • Develop and coordinate resident curricula, including leading the Program Evaluation Committee.
    • Oversee policies and procedures for the residency and collaborate with the residency program coordinator to ensure compliance with CCHS, ACGME, ABFM, and ABOFP requirements.

    • Identify and collaborate with program leadership on grant proposals for the maintenance and improvement of the residency program, including budget management, grant evaluation, and progress reporting.
    • Plan, oversee, and assist with the residency application and recruitment process in concert with the program coordinator.
    • Assist the Designated Institutional Official (DIO) and administrative leadership in developing the residency operating budget and monitoring financial operations.
    • Provide direction to faculty and residents on program priorities, areas for improvement, strategic planning, and growth.
    • Coordinate, oversee, and develop the Family Medicine faculty development program.
    • Participate in the education and training of residents, including clinical supervision and didactic teaching.
    • Provide general oversight of residents' scholarly and quality improvement projects, and participate in educational research and QI projects within the program.
    • Provide direct clinical care as a board-certified family physician in the context of team-based primary care.

    What You'll Bring
