Job Description and Duties

Under the general direction of the Assistant Deputy Director for Clinical Operations, the Clinical Technology Training Director, through partnership with diverse groups of leaders (clinical, technology, administration and financial) and stakeholders provides oversight of all Clinical Operations training initiatives including, but not limited to, the Continuum-EHR efforts, clinical technology related training projects, and other clinical projects in support of the Department of State Hospital's goals and objectives.

  • Regular and consistent attendance is critical to the successful performance of this position due to the heavy workload and time-sensitive nature of the work. The incumbent routinely works with and is exposed to sensitive and confidential issues and/or materials and is expected to maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • The Department of State Hospitals provides support services to facilities operated within the Department. A required function of this position is to consistently provide exceptional customer service to internal and external customers.
  • Incumbent will be held accountable for maintaining the program expenditures within budgeted allocations and to use funds for proper needs while tracking and reporting expenditures to ensure fiscal transparency and accountability.

Working Conditions

  • The position is eligible for up to 45% telework, with at least 55% of their time spent onsite at their base hospital or traveling to other DSH facilities in fulfillment of departmental and program needs.
  • This position will also require travel, approximately 20% of the time, to all State Hospitals and DSH-Sacramento.
  • Regular and consistent attendance is critical to the successful performance of this position due to the heavy workload and time-sensitive nature of the work. The incumbent routinely works with and is exposed to sensitive and confidential issues and/or materials and is expected to maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Eligible for Safety Retirement - this position requires that the employee continue their ongoing responsibility (at least 51% of their time) towards the protection and safeguarding of public and property as well as continued activities that provide regular and substantial contact with incarcerated individuals
  • The State's Commute Programs provide bicycle, mass transit and vanpool incentives to eligible state employees. The State's mass transit incentive pays 100% of the transit pass up to the IRS maximum of $340 per month in 2026
