Program Evaluation Lead, Public Health Surveillance & Informatics

Job Type: W2 Contract

Contract Duration: 12 Months

Location: Nashville, TN 37243

Schedule: Hybrid

Pay Rate: $44.00 - $46.00/hr.

Position Overview

The Program Evaluation Lead is responsible for developing and implementing program evaluation, quality improvement, and data collection strategies to support public health surveillance and informatics programs. This individual will oversee evaluation processes, analyze and report program data, ensure data integrity, and support the integration of evaluation findings into quality improvement initiatives. The role also provides training and guidance to staff on evaluation methodologies, metrics, and best practices.

Key Responsibilities

Program Evaluation & Data Management

  • Develop and implement evaluation strategies, quality improvement plans, and data collection tools to track program outcomes.
  • Collaborate with leadership to incorporate evaluation and quality improvement activities into program planning, reporting, and staff meetings.
  • Stay informed on current public health research and evaluation practices and recommend improvements.
  • Develop recommendations to improve data collection, reporting, and dissemination processes.
  • Produce routine reports and data analyses to support program management and evaluation efforts.
  • Assist program teams with interpreting evaluation findings and performance metrics.
  • Conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual data quality reviews to ensure accuracy and integrity.
  • Troubleshoot data collection and reporting issues and ensure adherence to established protocols.
  • Maintain program records, documentation, databases, and data collection procedure manuals.

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Coordinate data collection and data entry activities across program staff.
  • Manage implementation and reporting of evaluation tools and processes.
  • Lead evaluation and quality improvement training for staff and new team members.
  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory agencies, community organizations, and academic partners, to support evaluation and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Foster a culture of quality improvement across public health programs and projects.

Required Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Public Health, Community Development, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience developing and implementing evaluation strategies, including surveys, focus groups, and stakeholder interviews.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience conducting data analysis and creating reports using available data sources.

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Experience with complex data collection, data entry, and comparative data analysis using publicly available data sources.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and online data management systems.
  • Experience leading projects and influencing stakeholders without direct supervisory authority.
  • Ability to handle confidential information appropriately and professionally.
  • Strong ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
  • Experience supporting individuals with varying levels of technical proficiency.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting abilities.
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage complex projects.
