JOB SUMMARY

Under the general direction of a supervisor, provide instruction, supervision, and support for youth programming. Instructors will deliver engaging, structured activities while supporting program operations, safety, and scheduling.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:

• Provide instruction and training in assigned program areas
• Plan and lead age-appropriate activities and lessons.
• Maintain a safe, inclusive, and well-organized program environment.
• Assist with daily program operations, including attendance, scheduling, and activity setup.
• Communicate effectively with participants, staff, and supervisors.
• Follow all Recreation Department policies, procedures, and safety requirements.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND OTHER ATTRIBUTES

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND OTHER ATTRIBUTES:

• Knowledge or experience in one or more of the following areas:

• Arts & Crafts

• Sports & Recreation

• Dance or movement

• Music or Drama

• Cooking or nutrition

• Science or STEM activities

• Ability to engage youth in a positive and supportive manner.

• Strong organizational and time-management skills.

• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Prior experience working with youth in an educational, recreational, or program setting preferred.
• Ability to work a flexible seasonal schedule.
