Paras play an important role in providing behavioral and academic support to students and are often the first go-to person for students during the day.This video will show what a day looks like in the RISE Autism Program, which is for students with unique needs. LINK: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Fe3w8-fWvQ Location: Indian Mounds Elementary SchoolEffective Date: ASAPSalary: Class III ranging from $23.06 - $27.15 per hour *Wage placement based on similar experienceHours: 6.1 hours per day 5 days per week 180 days per year Required Education:High School Diploma60 credits post-secondary education or a passing score on the Para Pro ExamPCA Certification (or the ability to obtain)Physical Requirements: Must have the ability to pass a pre-work physical exam including the following requirements:Must have ability to lift up to 50 poundsMust have ability to push/pull equipment including standers, wheelchairs, etcMust have ability to repetitively reach overheadMust have ability to transfer to/from floorMust have ability to kneelRequired Experience: Successful experiences working with special education students in an educational setting preferred.Responsibilities:Work collaboratively with licensed and other staff to assist students with academic, behavioral/social/emotional, instruction, and daily living skills.Assist in implementation of assigned tasks including instruction and assisting students academicallyMonitor student's skills of independence and implementation of classroom of individual behavior management programsAssist with daily living activitiesCommunicate student's progress with case managersBenefits:Bloomington Public Schools offers a variety of benefits to help take care of employees' health and well-being.
