Responsibilities:

Overview

Orion is seeking a highly analytical and technically fluent Program Management Technical Specialist to support a dynamic portfolio of Space Domain Awareness (SDA) programs. This role works at the intersection of science, engineering, software development, and program execution, helping translate complex technical and financial data into clear, actionable insights that drive program performance and customer satisfaction. You will partner closely with Program Managers, technical leads, and senior leaders to ensure programs are delivered with rigor, transparency, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and improve dashboards, reporting tools, and execution metrics that provide leadership with visibility into technical progress, schedule performance, staffing health, financial execution, and emerging risks.
  • Analyze large sets of technical, operational, and financial data to identify trends, diagnose inefficiencies, and support data-driven decisions across multiple programs.
  • Prepare program-level reporting for internal leadership and government partners, including monthly reviews, variance analyses, performance summaries, and milestone tracking.
  • Partner with scientists, engineers, software developers, and business teams to capture and synthesize inputs across technical and operational domains.
  • Support program planning activities such as baseline development, resource forecasts, schedule coordination, and risk identification.
  • Help build scalable, repeatable processes that enhance program visibility, improve compliance, and strengthen execution discipline across the SDA portfolio.
  • Contribute to the development of automated reporting pipelines and business intelligence tools that streamline program operations.
  • Translate highly technical R&D activities into accessible insights, ensuring stakeholders at all levels understand program status and priorities.
  • Operate effectively in multidisciplinary environments involving atmospheric science, ionospheric physics, sensor development, modeling, analytics, and advanced algorithm design.

Why Join Orion
This position offers the opportunity to help shape execution excellence across some of Orion’s most advanced and mission-critical SDA programs. You will play a significant role in improving how the organization assesses performance, manages risk, and delivers insight to leadership and government partners. If you enjoy blending analytics, technical understanding, and operational problem-solving, this role will give you impact and visibility in a fast-growing mission area.
