Responsibilities

Oversees the efforts of the Academic Technology and Design team in the Herbert Wertheim College of Business.

  • Oversees the efforts of the Academic Technology and Design team working closely with faculty and teaching assistants to design courses to take advantage of learning management systems, lecture capture systems, collaboration tools, and other academic technology. Works with the team to support face to face, online, hybrid, and executive education offerings. Offers guidance to faculty in initial course design and retooling strategies to align with Quality Matters standards, ensure accessibility for all modalities of instruction, and meet applicable university policy and procedures. Leads the AT team in helping faculty roll out and sort out issues with new online courses. Assists with course migration and setup each semester and tracks the college's analytics in these areas, reporting to college administration.
  • Works directly with faculty to utilize the latest academic technologies available to enhance course instruction. Helps to troubleshoot issues with learning management systems, lecture capture systems, collaboration tools, and other academic technologies. Oversees the team's efforts in this area and assigns support tickets, as necessary. Designs and maintains training materials including websites, job aids, tutorial videos, and blogs, to provide faculty with a comprehensive resource to aid in the use of available tools. Leads efforts to discover and promote new technologies that will create better efficiency and innovative experience for the college's students.
  • Manages and coordinates the team's production studio and assists in productions and shoots, as necessary. Manages staffing to ensure adequate levels to meet faculty recording and production demands. Develops and maintains knowledge of the latest production technologies and techniques and is constantly looking for new ways to expand production capabilities, capacity, and service to the rest of the college.
  • Maintain relationships with appropriate central offices around the university to aid in furthering the mission of the college and team. These would include but not be limited to the Classroom Support and Office of Distance Learning teams to help stay abreast of updates in technologies and policies. Examines peer and aspirant institution's operations and makes reports to college administration to recommend new initiatives.

Qualifications

Bachelors degree and four years of experience related to administrative services; or a high school diploma/equivalent and eight years of experience related to administrative services. (Note: a combination of post high school education and experience equal to eight years.)

Preferred Qualifications

Two or more years in instructional design, curriculum development, adult learning, or a related field is preferred.
