Job Title: Program Manager (Automotive Engineering) (Multiple Positions)
Job Duties: Responsible for automotive engineering program development, leading and coordinating complex, multimillion-dollar Internal Combustion, electric vehicle, and component product development programs across global cross-functional teams and suppliers, ensuring timely and budget-conscious delivery by leveraging program management tools. Apply advanced risk mitigation strategies using model-based techniques to proactively manage scope, schedule, and budget, while maintaining tollgate phase compliance and driving quality delivery. Communicate effectively across all organizational levels, including senior leadership, by delivering audience appropriate presentations and written communications that support organizational decision making. Support PACCAR Purchasing supplier negotiations and cost optimization initiatives to achieve enhancements in production readiness. Demonstrate ability to work in a fast-paced environment by automating program workflows (i.e. scope, schedule, and budget), mapping processes, and applying Six Sigma and other project management methodologies (i.e. Agile, Matrix, Waterfall) to streamline operations and accelerate time-to-market. Foster high-performance collaboration while operating in both digital or in-person environments, while managing multiple priorities with initiative, problem-solving acumen, and a strong team-oriented mindset. International and domestic travel required up to 15% of the time for team and supplier meetings and/or company events.
Job Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Management, or a related field or foreign degree equivalent and 1 year of automotive and electric vehicle engineering experience, including at least 1 year of experience in each of the following:
1. Managing automotive and electric vehicle battery projects valued at $1 million or greater;
2. Operating within a matrixed organization, working with stakeholders spanning multiple locations and countries;
3. Completing projects following a Phased Gate Process, working from project initiation though definition to concept and implementation;
4. Creating data rich visualizations and report using project-tracking and analytics tools to support leadership’s decision making;
5. Monitoring and reporting on program scope, schedule, and budget, delivering program updates to varying levels of leadership and escalating issues as necessary;
6. Utilizing cost optimization tools or model-based equivalents to determine should-cost and cost saving initiatives;
7. Managing shifting priorities by proactively identifying potential risks and adjusting strategies to mitigate project disruptions; and
8. Maintaining clear communication with stakeholders to align expectations and adapt plans accordingly.
Experience may be gained concurrently.
Salary: $105,352 - $156,600/year. These positions are also eligible for a holiday gift.
