    Job Description

Amazon Web Services (AWS) brings new services and features to customers at an unprecedented cadence - more than 3,000 launches a year, and accelerating as the AI landscape evolves. Behind that velocity is the Launch Operations team, which owns the process that governs the lifecycle of bringing every AWS capability to customers, from intake through customer availability. We turn AWS's innovation velocity into a durable Marketing advantage: driving operational scale so service teams and stakeholders can focus on innovation, and improving signal-to-noise so the most important news reaches customers and enables field sales and partner teams to engage around the launches that matter most.

We are looking for a Program Manager to help run the programs that make this possible. Working closely with senior program managers and stakeholders, you will help keep launches moving on time and at a high quality bar - coordinating across product managers, marketing, engineering, security, legal, and field teams, tracking deliverables, and surfacing risks early. This is a role for someone who is organized, resourceful, and eager to grow in a high-visibility, cross-functional environment where the details matter and the scale is significant. You will learn the launch process end to end, and as you do, you will spot where manual coordination slows launches down and help implement the improvements that make the next cycle smoother.

    Key job responsibilities

    1. Support the end-to-end launch operations program including tracking milestones and deliverables, maintaining schedules, and surfacing risks across multiple concurrent launches.

    2. Coordinate with product managers, marketing, engineering, security, legal, and field teams to keep launches moving from intake to customer availability and help remove blockers.

    3. Help identify process gaps in how launches move through the pipeline and contribute to improvements that raise quality and reduce cycle time.

    4. Maintain program dashboards and status reporting, ensuring stakeholders have accurate, timely visibility into launch progress.

    5. Track program metrics and help improve signal-to-noise so the most important launches are elevated to customers.

    6. Apply generative AI tools including Amazon Quick to streamline documentation, status reporting, and program analysis.

    A day in the life

You start your morning reviewing the launch pipeline and flagging any launches at risk of slipping, then follow up with the relevant task owners to keep them on track. Mid-morning, you join a working session with product and marketing partners to walk through upcoming launches and capture next steps. After lunch, you update the program dashboard and pull together a status summary for the team, highlighting progress and any open items that need attention. Between meetings, you look for small ways to remove friction in the intake process often using generative AI tooling to speed up the documentation and reporting that used to take up much of your day.

    About the team

The AWS Lifecycle Marketing team shapes how the world's leading cloud and AI portfolio reaches customers. We orchestrate how AWS launches are integrated with Marketing planning, how lifecycle changes are managed responsibly, and how the portfolio is represented across shared surfaces and priority moments - removing complexity, increasing visibility, and ensuring Marketing can act with the coordination, speed, and strategic focus the portfolio requires. Launch Operations is the connective tissue between AWS Service Engineering and AWS Marketing, and this role is a great entry point into a multi-year transformation from manual, relationship-driven coordination to scalable, data-driven platforms. If you want to work on programs that shape how millions of customers experience AWS innovation, we would love to hear from you.

    About Company

At Amazon, we don’t wait for the next big idea to present itself. We envision the shape of impossible things and then we boldly make them reality. So far, this mindset has helped us achieve some incredible things. Let’s build new systems, challenge the status quo, and design the world we want to live in. We believe the work you do here will be the best work of your life.

Wherever you are in your career exploration, Amazon likely has an opportunity for you. Our research scientists and engineers shape the future of natural language understanding with Alexa. Fulfillment center associates around the globe send customer orders from our warehouses to doorsteps. Product managers set feature requirements, strategy, and marketing messages for brand new customer experiences. And as we grow, we’ll add jobs that haven’t been invented yet.

    It’s Always Day 1
At Amazon, it’s always “Day 1.” Now, what does this mean and why does it matter? It means that our approach remains the same as it was on Amazon’s very first day – to make smart, fast decisions, stay nimble, invent, and stay focused on delighting our customers. In our 2016 shareholder letter, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos shared his thoughts on how to keep up a Day 1 company mindset. “Staying in Day 1 requires you to experiment patiently, accept failures, plant seeds, protect saplings, and double down when you see customer delight,” he wrote. “A customer-obsessed culture best creates the conditions where all of that can happen.” You can read the full letter here

    Our Leadership Principles
Our Leadership Principles help us keep a Day 1 mentality. They aren’t just a pretty inspirational wall hanging. Amazonians use them, every day, whether they’re discussing ideas for new projects, deciding on the best solution for a customer’s problem, or interviewing candidates.
