Pay Range:$36.46 - $51.29 This position will work within SEARHC's Rehabilitation Services clinics with a primary focus on providing cardiac rehabilitation services across multiple clinics, as well as a secondary focus on varied clinical needs dependent on local community needs.SEARHC is a non-profit health consortium which serves the health interests of the residents of Southeast Alaska. Key Essential Functions and Accountabilities of the Job
Is responsible for directing the overall functions of Cardiac Rehabilitation Services.
Coordinates integration of service lines evaluating and treating cardiac rehabilitation.
Collaborates with primary care and specialty clinics, wellness, rehabilitation, and pharmacy departments regarding cardiac rehabilitation management initiatives and strategies.
Coordinates and supervises operations of cardiac rehabilitation program including treatment, utilization, and optimization.
Assists rehabilitation and leadership staff in administrative matters, policy and procedure review, clinic operations, and specialty areas as appropriate.
Performs assessment/evaluation, formulates cardiac treatment plan with goals, and implements treatment services to patients.
Reviews clinical records and case histories.
Maintains performance improvement activities associated with the cardiac rehabilitation program.
Maintains state, federal, and local regulatory compliance.
Participates in local and consortium-wide committees/teams/task forces.
Other Functions
Develops, implements, and coordinates a comprehensive and collaborative, consortium-wide program for the management of cardiac rehabilitation including:
Champion a consistent approach to and philosophy of persistent cardiac rehabilitation
Develop and monitor essential data/metrics to gauge program success.
Remain current on the latest advances and approaches to cardiac rehabilitation management options.
Assess cultural and/or other local factors that influence pain and the experience of cardiac treatment.
Promotes the mission, vision, and values of the organization. Maintains patient confidence and protect SEARHC operations by keeping information confidential. Communicates appropriately to physicians, staff, and administrative team. Manages and maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. Maintains records pertinent to personnel and operation of the department.
Demonstrates the ability to be flexible, organized, and function in stressful situations. Maintains a good working relationship both within the department and with other departments.
Is responsible for the direction of the rehabilitation program and staff. Provides education to staff on performance improvement. Is able to plan and organize orientation and in-service training for department staff members and other clinical staff throughout SEARHC and participate in guidance and educational programs. Performs management activities including interviewing, hiring, evaluating, and terminating department staff members.
Demonstrates knowledge and proficiency in cardiac rehabilitation, and multi- and interdisciplinary cardiac treatment approaches.
Develops, implements, and conducts patient education and rehabilitation programs based on patient and/or family needs. Programs are taught demonstrating sensitivity to cross cultural issues.
Treats patients and families with respect and dignity. Identifies and addresses the needs of both patients and patient’s families. Interacts professionally in the formation of the plan of care.
Pursues excellence and professional growth through means such as continuing education, literature review, and peer review of charts.
Video conferencing may be used for patient encounters, training, and administrative duties with off-site locations.
Directs the work of support staff, students, and/or interns.
Adheres to the regulatory and practice standards.
Other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Responsible for supervision of cardiac rehabilitation staff including, but not limited to, all related administrative and personnel tasks. Addresses all personnel issues with support from department leadership and Human Resources.
Assisting with recruitment, training and performance evaluations of rehabilitation staff. This includes ensuring rehabilitation team members are following best practices and respective professional standards.
Assisting with the monitoring of the quality of patient care and ensuring that treatment plans are effectively implemented and managed.
Effectively managing clinic resources to ensure efficient operations and adequate support for therapy services.
Ensuring that the clinic adheres to all regulatory and accreditation standards including those related to patient safety and privacy.
Assisting with the budgeting and financial planning to maintain clinic operations.
Facilitating communication and collaboration of the therapy team with other members of the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
Encouraging ongoing education and professional development for staff to maintain high clinical standards.
Assisting with the handling of any operational concerns or emergencies that arise, ensuring that patient care continues seamlessly.
Education,Certifications, and Licenses Required
Bachelor's degree from an accredited program in a healthcare-related field required
Master’s degree from an accredited program in a healthcare-related preferred
BLS Certification within 30 days of hire
ACLS Certification within 90 days of hire
Current and valid driver’s license
Experience Required
Minimum two years of clinical experience in cardiac rehabilitation
At least one year of which includes management of resources and/or personnel in an interdisciplinary or multi-disciplinary setting.
Interest in patient care emphasizing cardiac rehabilitation emphasis
Knowledge of
Cardiac Rehabilitation, exercise science, and nutrition.
Billing practices, compliance issues, budgeting, and resource management.
Cultural and population-based considerations that impact patient care.
Standards of care, HIPAA, health care risk management principles, medical ethics, and medical malpractice principles.
Computer Skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office Products including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Effective communication skills and ability to interact with staff and patients.
Oral, written, and interpersonal communication.
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
Use of electronic medical record system(s).

Must be able to travel occasionally.

Required Certifications:
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - American Heart Association, Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association, Driver License - State of Alaska
