Program Manager, Contracts and Cost Control

What you will do

You will own program outcomes end-to-end—from kickoff to close. As the primary customer interface, you will lead program review sessions to discuss cost, schedule, and technical performance. You will establish milestones, monitor adherence to the master plan, and solve problems through resource allocation or by amending contractual specifications. You’ll guide engineering efforts by setting design concepts and criteria and collaborating on research, development, integration, and test. Every month, you will complete actual-versus-budget analyses to protect profitability and rapidly surface off-plan costs or conditions. Along the way, you will direct assigned team members across technical, manufacturing, and administrative functions and cultivate new business or product-line expansion within existing accounts.

• Organizational awareness and effectiveness as a liaison between Customer and Company.
• Strong problem solving and familiarity with contracting/procurement.
• Understanding of ERP systems.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power Point, etc.).

Experience and education

• 3–5 years of program management (or comparable role) in a manufacturing environment.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in business or finance is highly desirable but not required.

• Coordinate creation of proposals, business plans, proposal work statements and specifications, operating budgets, and contract financial terms/conditions.
• Participate in negotiations for contracts and contract changes.
• Lead internal and customer program reviews focused on cost, schedule, and technical performance.
• Establish and track milestones; ensure adherence to master schedules; resolve program issues quickly.
• Shape design concepts and criteria; support product research, development, integration, and test.
• Develop new business and expand product lines within assigned customer programs.
• Direct work of team members from technical, manufacturing, and administrative areas.
