DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION

The UW Medicine Digital Health Office supports the UW Medicine mission—to improve the health of the public—by delivering digital health solutions for medical education and specialty care, particularly for rural and underserved communities in the Pacific Northwest and the WWAMI region (Washington, Wyoming, Alaska, Montana, and Idaho).

POSITION HIGHLIGHTS

The Program Manager for External eConsults/Virtual Care serves as the lead operational manager for UW Medicine's external, partner-facing virtual care services, with initial focus on eConsult, overseeing program design, implementation, expansion, evaluation, and long-term sustainability. eConsult is a store-and-forward, asynchronous provider-to-provider digital consultation model that enables referring clinicians to submit patient questions and clinical information directly to UW Medicine specialists, receiving expert guidance without requiring an in-person referral or patient visit.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

+ Serve as the primary operational manager for UW Medicine’s external virtual care programs + Support the strategic development and implementation of UW Medicine’s external virtual care programs + Support the design, development, and rollout of external virtual care services and partnerships with internal and external organizations + Conduct needs assessments with stakeholders and incorporate findings into program planning and service development + Collaborate with clinical, academic, operational, and technology leaders to align program initiatives with organizational priorities + Supervise program support staff and other program staff, including hiring, onboarding, training, scheduling, and day-to-day oversight of team activities + Develop and maintain program documentation, standard work processes, operational workflows, and reporting frameworks to support program performance and growth.

REQUIREMENTS

+ Bachelor's Degree in a related field + 5-8 years of experience in program management (preferably in a healthcare setting), strategic planning, project portfolio management or related organizational management responsibilities. + Excellent written and verbal communications skills, with the ability to develop and deliver communications to individuals at all levels within UW Medicine, including executives. + Demonstrated ability to build productive relationships and manage teams under tight time constraints. + Customer-service focused, with ability to adjust style to work with a variety of individuals and perspectives + Extensive experience with clinical operations and clinic/service line management + Three or more years of progressive supervisory and management experience preferably within a clinical operations or service line environment + Extensive experience in facilitating large meetings, demonstrating the ability to lead to outcomes. + Excellent analytic skills with the ability to develop, assess and implement at all phases of a project. + Resilient, agile and able to work in a dynamic environment and under pressure + Experience making independent decisions on matters of significance, free from immediate direction, within scope of responsibilities + Experience working within complex health systems  + Equivalent experience may substitute for degree requirement

$114,000.00 annual
