    Description

    Job Title: 5S Facilitator
    Location: Cleveland, OH (Onsite)

    Duration: 6 months


    This opening is for one 5S Facilitator. Must have experience leading 5S implementations or Lean initiatives in a manufacturing or operations environment.
    Day Shift - 8am - 4:30pm

    Position Summary
    Measurable improvements in safety, organization, flow, and visual control.
    A trained site specialist or junior engineer capable of independently sustaining and improving 5S.
    Clear, visual, and standardized 5S practices adopted by operations.
    Site-wide 5S implementation completed within six months.

    Key Success Factors
    Hands-on, shop-floor-oriented leadership style.
    Strong communication and coaching skills across all organizational levels.
    Ability to operate with urgency and structure in change-intensive environments.
    Working knowledge of Lean, visual management, and operational excellence systems (experience with structured frameworks preferred).
    Strong facilitation skills with experience leading Kaizen events and cross-functional teams.
    Proven experience leading 5S implementations or Lean initiatives in a manufacturing or operations environment.

    Qualifications & Experience
    Reinforce a culture of ownership, discipline, and continuous improvement.
    Communicate progress, risks, and support needs to site leadership through clear, data-driven updates.
    Serve as the primary site point of contact for 5S implementation.
    Communication & Change Management
    Identify sustainment risks and lead corrective actions to prevent regression during and after the transition period.
    Support site leadership in embedding 5S into daily management systems.
    Establish 5S audit processes, visual scorecards, and escalation mechanisms.
    Sustainment & Governance
    Execute a structured handoff plan to ensure long-term ownership is fully transitioned prior to the end of the 12 month assignment.
    Create clear documentation, standard work, audit routines, and visual management tools to enable independent sustainment.
    Develop and mentor a site-based specialist or junior engineer who will assume long-term ownership of 5S sustainment.
    Coach leaders on sustaining 5S through leader standard work, Gemba walks, and tiered accountability.
    Train supervisors, operators, and support teams on 5S principles, standards, and expectations.
    Coaching, Capability Building & Handoff
    Track and report Kaizen outcomes, including improvements in safety, efficiency, visual management, and space utilization.
    Facilitate cross-functional teams during Kaizens, ensuring engagement, accountability, and timely completion of actions.
    Plan and lead 5S Kaizen events across manufacturing, warehouse, maintenance, and support areas.
    Kaizen Leadership
    Ensure 5S standards are practical, visual, and integrated into daily operations.
    Develop and execute a detailed rollout plan by area, including sequencing, milestones, and ownership.
    Drive implementation of all five pillars of 5S (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) within a targeted six-month deployment window.
    Lead the design and execution of a site-wide 5S rollout aligned to the *** Operational Excellence framework.
    5S Implementation & Deployment
    Key Responsibilities

    This role will lead 5S Kaizen events, execute the site rollout plan, and embed 5S standards in alignment with the *** Operational Excellence framework, working closely with the Operational Excellence Coach, site leadership, and operations teams. A key responsibility of the role is to prepare and transition long-term ownership of 5S sustainment to a designated site specialist or junior engineer before the end of the assignment.
    The 5S Facilitator is a temporary, site-based role responsible for leading the end-to-end implementation of the 5S methodology across the facility. The site currently does not have a formal 5S system in place and is targeting a full, structured 5S implementation within a six-month timeline, followed by focused stabilization, sustainment, and capability transfer.
