    Description

    • Serve as main point of contact and liaison between internal and external stakeholders (i.e. Principal Investigators, Program Sponsors, organizational leadership and project management teams). Establish and maintain effective working relationships on matters of mutual interest. Track and report on progress and outcomes.
    • Manage key program elements, including but not limited to goals and milestones, risks, available resources, budgets, standard operating procedures, quality control, and results. Identify project interdependencies, aligning resources and efforts where appropriate.
    • Supervise, advise and guide Project Managers and technical staff throughout the program lifecycle, focusing on the strategic direction of the projects. Take corrective action as needed.
    • Support and participate in planning, creation and submission of proposals and agreements as requested.

    Supervisory Responsibilities

    • Direct Supervisor: Direct authority to make decisions on the following: employee hiring, disciplinary action, starting salaries and merit increases; conduct employee performance evaluations and directs work activities.

    HJF is seeking a Program Manager III to oversee a collection of related/integrated projects that together support a long-term research initiative. This position strategically guides one or more project managers and related technical staff to ensure they are all working effectively toward the program's stated objectives. Typically oversees moderate to highly complex scope of work.

    This position will be in support of the Research and Development (R&D) Operations team, located in San Antonio, Texas. The R&D team engages in support over a broad range of programs and projects supporting the full spectrum of military medicine from pre-deployment and readiness, in-theater operational efforts and post-deployment health. The position will work closely with USG partners in the execution of research related to these areas.
