Are you ready to lead critical-path nuclear inspection programs?
Do you thrive in complex environments where reactor vessels and internals are inspected by robotic systems in the morning and manual Balance-of-Plant NDE follows in the afternoon? Can you convert PMBOK principles into actionable plans, keep EVM on target, and communicate with customers, architect engineers, and constructors as the single accountable voice? If so, this role is for you.
The challenge
Own project management from planning through closeout for medium-complexity NDE initiatives—or drive a defined workstream within a highly complex program.
Lead teams of approximately 10–30 professionals, including project controls and sub-project managers.
Serve as the Technical Inputs Lead for medium-complexity proposals; step into a deputy PM capacity on highly complex efforts with direct guidance from a Program Manager or higher.
Your environment
Based out of our Waltz Mill facility in Madison, PA, you’ll be in a mobile role with 2–3 on-site days per week. You’ll report to the Manager of Reactor & BOP Inspection Operations.
What success looks like
Plan: Author project plans; set scope, schedule, and cost baselines.
Execute and control:
Deliver profitable outcomes and staff projects per departmental protocols.
Manage scope, schedule, cost, risk, procurement, quality, resources, communications, and stakeholder engagement with purposeful delegation.
Translate contract requirements and changes through an integrated change management process.
Forecast costs and performance using EVM; meet all reporting needs.
Validate spend against baselines and scope; maintain audit-ready records.
Publish team and customer-facing metrics and process maps to ensure clarity.
Establish databases, systems, and procedures for streamlined correspondence and document management.
Close: Archive across financial, scheduling, document, and resource systems; complete final quality assessments; capture lessons learned, improvements, and risk-avoidance strategies for future work.
Influence: Be the single representative to customers, architect engineers, constructors, suppliers, Westinghouse in-country representatives, and internal business units; align objectives with adjacent project groups.
Improve: Continuously identify, assess, and implement enhancements to project performance.
Qualifications that set you apart
Bachelor’s in Project Management, Engineering, Construction Management, or related technical discipline—or equivalent non-degreed technical experience in field service, nuclear, power plants, NDE, oil/gas, or construction. Preferred: Bachelor’s in Project Management or Engineering.
1–3 years as a project manager, or 3+ years in a technical role across the industries above; preferred: 2+ years PM experience in engineering, manufacturing, nuclear, or construction.
Advanced interpersonal capability—lead complex teams, cultivate senior relationships, and make independent, high-quality decisions.
Advanced Microsoft Office; strong command of schedule, cost, and risk processes/tools (e.g., Primavera, SAP, Active Risk Manager).
Skilled in data-to-visual reporting, database concepts, and cross-functional collaboration with Finance, Legal, Quality, and Supply Chain; excellent presenter.
Training: Complete Westinghouse systems, procedures, and policies for assigned work. Preferred: Broad nuclear plant knowledge and familiarity with utility operations, maintenance, engineering, procurement, and material management.
Westinghouse Project Manager qualification in progress or eligible; external candidates will complete within the defined timeframe.
Preferred certification: PMI/PMP or equivalent.
English proficiency; additional languages are an advantage.
