Summary of Purpose

To work collaboratively with Nursing administrators, faculty, and staff in using data to track student progression, project student course sequencing throughout the Nursing program, and analyze reports to adjust course sequencing. This full-time administrative

position includes being responsible for maintaining faculty and student registration, clinical, and lab data. The Program Manager, Nursing - Data Focus, oversees the annual review of published Nursing program information to ensure accuracy and compliance. This position works collaboratively with Nursing faculty and Nursing administration to participate in the departmental

budgeting process and accreditation activities. The position is expected to work in a multiculturally diverse working environmen

Typical Duties

This description is intended to indicate the types of duties and responsibilities requested of the

employee assigned this title. It is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all the duties and

responsibilities that may be required:

  1. Compiles student calculation data for selection into the ADN/TPN programs. Demographic

analysis for reporting.

  1. Develops and implements student progression plan and projects student course sequencing

throughout the nursing program.

  1. Tracks incomplete and inactive students and analyzes grade reports to adjust course

sequencing.

  1. Collaborates with the Program Coordinator - Clinical Focus to assure student placement

and progression in the nursing sequence is attained.

  1. Collaborates with the Executive Director of Health Professions and Dean of Nursing and/or

Associate Dean of Nursing to prepare student registration reports.

  1. Designs, implements, maintains, and backs up Nursing.

  2. Manages and resolves students' problems and concerns; recommends decisions to

Executive Director of Health Professions and Dean of Nursing with respect to student

appeals.

  1. Assists in facilitation of standard processes for programmatic activities (e.g. graphics and

marketing requests, maintaining and updating webpage content).

  1. Oversees annual review of the Nursing Admission Guide, Nursing Student Handbook, and

admission and orientation packets for students.

  1. Maintains faculty and student registration, clinical, and lab data in perpetuity.

  2. Coordinates lab schedule viability with Program Coordinator - Clinical Focus.

  3. Imports student and faculty data into nursing database.

  4. Attends and participates in scheduled information sessions for prospective students and

assists in student recruitment.

  1. Collaborates with the Program Coordinator - Clinical Focus in monitoring nursing

instructor compliance, credentials and other required health screenings and immunizations.

  1. Coordinates, attends, and participates in all new nursing student orientations.

  2. Coordinates, attends, and participates in the annual nursing faculty and adjunct orientation.

  3. Coordinates and attends Nursing Advisory Board committee meetings.

  4. Coordinates, attends, and participates in scheduled information sessions for prospective

students and assists in student recruitment.

  1. Participates in the departmental budgeting process, including capital requests/change

requests.

  1. Participates in accreditation activities.

  2. Maintains confidentiality in all student matters.

  3. Exhibits initiative, enthusiasm, collegiality, and teamwork in accomplishing the

responsibilities of the position.

  1. Performs other related duties as assigned.

  2. Maintains the ability to work additional hours as needed

Minimum Education and Experience

EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree.

EXPERIENCE: Three years of full-time experience as an administrative specialist.

Experience with developing and managing databases.
