Interested in working on an innovative and high-impact business that is changing the way customers think about buying groceries? Our team focuses on creating exceptional shopping experiences that transform how customers discover and purchase perishable goods from Amazon. We"re passionate about building compelling assortment, optimizing the customer journey, and developing strategic partnerships to drive category growth. We work in a collaborative environment where innovative thinking and strategic execution are highly valued. Our team strives to deliver exceptional value to customers while driving business results through data-driven decision making.

The Trade Planning PM is responsible for defining the desired shopping experience across Protein, Center-Store Frozen, and Emerging Brands for our multi-banner events and promotional strategies, ensuring a cohesive customer journey. The PM establishes performance standards by defining the requirements for seasonal events, effectively balancing customer satisfaction with financial targets.

In this role, you will own planning programs and analytical mechanisms that inform seasonal event strategy, assortment decisions, and customer experience planning across Worldwide Grocery Stores. You will partner closely with Category, Marketing, Demand Planning, and Supply Chain teams to develop scalable planning frameworks that improve how we select, merchandise, and present products to customers across our grocery formats.

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong business judgment, analytical rigor, and the ability to operate effectively in ambiguous environments. You should be comfortable influencing stakeholders across multiple organizations, defining requirements for new programs and tools, and driving initiatives from concept through implementation. High judgment, analytical talent, and exceptional communication skills are essential for success in this role.

Key job responsibilities

Our environment is fast-paced and sometimes ambiguous. This requires someone who is flexible, detail-oriented, analytical, and comfortable working with multiple teams and other stakeholders.

On a day to day basis, you will:

  • Own planning programs and mechanisms that support seasonal events and promotional strategies across Worldwide Grocery Stores.
  • Partner with Category, Marketing, Demand Planning, and Supply Chain teams to develop scalable planning frameworks that improve customer experience and business performance.
  • Build data-driven selection guidance and category prioritization frameworks that help Protein, Center Store Frozen, and Emerging Brands teams determine the right products, categories, and customer experiences to feature across key seasonal events.
  • Drive end-to-end program management, including problem discovery, requirements definition, stakeholder alignment, launch readiness, execution, and post-event analysis.
  • Serve as a key liaison between Category and partner organizations, ensuring stakeholders are aligned on priorities, timelines, and business objectives.
  • Develop business reviews, leadership updates, and strategic recommendations that influence planning decisions across the Protein, Center Store Frozen, and Emerging Brands organization.

About the Company

Amazon.com Inc

At Amazon, we don’t wait for the next big idea to present itself. We envision the shape of impossible things and then we boldly make them reality. So far, this mindset has helped us achieve some incredible things. Let’s build new systems, challenge the status quo, and design the world we want to live in. We believe the work you do here will be the best work of your life.

Wherever you are in your career exploration, Amazon likely has an opportunity for you. Our research scientists and engineers shape the future of natural language understanding with Alexa. Fulfillment center associates around the globe send customer orders from our warehouses to doorsteps. Product managers set feature requirements, strategy, and marketing messages for brand new customer experiences. And as we grow, we’ll add jobs that haven’t been invented yet.

It’s Always Day 1
At Amazon, it’s always “Day 1.” Now, what does this mean and why does it matter? It means that our approach remains the same as it was on Amazon’s very first day – to make smart, fast decisions, stay nimble, invent, and stay focused on delighting our customers. In our 2016 shareholder letter, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos shared his thoughts on how to keep up a Day 1 company mindset. “Staying in Day 1 requires you to experiment patiently, accept failures, plant seeds, protect saplings, and double down when you see customer delight,” he wrote. “A customer-obsessed culture best creates the conditions where all of that can happen.” You can read the full letter here

Our Leadership Principles
Our Leadership Principles help us keep a Day 1 mentality. They aren’t just a pretty inspirational wall hanging. Amazonians use them, every day, whether they’re discussing ideas for new projects, deciding on the best solution for a customer’s problem, or interviewing candidates.
