PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
The Hartford Transitional House (HTH) provides men with a supervised structured, residential environment that is safe and supportive. HTH is a stable atmosphere that enhances the efforts of the residents and staff to effect positive changes in resident's behavior and decision making. The program promotes responsibility and accountability while reinforcing the values of tolerance, respect, cooperation, and concern during the men's stay, while meeting the needs of the referral source.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
The Program Manager is responsible for overseeing the day- to- day operations of the Hartford Transitional House and staff. The Program Manager sets the program culture and tone, coordinating and collaborating with the AIC management team, managing complex decisions, building relationships and multi-tasking. The Program Manager also plays a role in ensuring that a strengths-based culture is embraced, that resident/program outcomes are consistently met, and that the program is positioned for success internally and externally.
A bachelor's degree in social service, criminal justice or counseling preferred. Equivalent work experience will be considered in lieu of bachelor's degree. Five years of management and three years of supervisory experience in criminal justice or social work system. Residential experience required. Knowledge of the court and probation system, and local community resources. Exceptional time management and communication skills (verbal, written, computer). Strong leadership, emotional intelligence, decision making, communication, interpersonal and organizational/prioritization skills are critical. Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Bilingual ability (Spanish/English) preferred.
