Program Manager, Membership Packages
Position Summary
The Program Manager, Membership Packages is responsible for supporting the launch and evolution of emerging Client membership models. Reporting to the Product Lead within the Client Membership & Strategic Engagement team, this role provides product-minded execution and strategic support to ensure that new membership offerings deliver sustainable value to members, advance key Membership objectives, and remain aligned with ongoing technology modernization efforts.
Working closely with colleagues in the Membership Product Strategy team and subject matter experts across the Client Society, this role will play a critical part in ensuring the successful execution and continuous improvement of emerging membership models. The role will translate operational needs, feedback, and organizational priorities into scalable membership solutions while supporting stakeholder alignment, participant community outreach, and post-launch optimization activities.
This position is a contractor role with a term through December 1, 2026.
Key Responsibilities
Membership Packages - Management and Execution
· Support the development, launch, and ongoing evolution of emerging Client membership models and membership package innovations.
· Monitor membership package performance, stakeholder feedback, and operational effectiveness to identify enhancement opportunities and support continuous improvement efforts.
· Support post-launch assessment activities, including tracking outcomes, documenting lessons learned, and identifying future enhancement opportunities.
· Partner with Membership Product Strategy leadership and colleagues to identify, prioritize, and execute enhancements that advance member value and Membership objectives.
Outreach and User Community Management
· Coordinate and support pilot outreach and recruitment activities for priority membership package offerings.
· Assist in the development of communication, education, and engagement materials that support successful rollout and adoption of membership offerings.
· Coordinate with customer service and finance teams to track and support response to Member inquiries and support needs.
· Facilitate feedback loops with members, prospective members, volunteers, and other stakeholders to better understand community needs and expectations.
· Identify recurring themes, opportunities, and challenges from stakeholder engagement activities and communicate findings to product strategy and leadership teams.
Technology Enablement – Emerging Membership Packages
· Partner with technology, business, and vendor teams to ensure emerging membership models are aligned with ongoing platform modernization initiatives and enterprise capabilities.
· Help evaluate proposed technology solutions and process improvements to ensure alignment with membership objectives and intended member experiences.
· Facilitate communication between business and technology stakeholders to clarify requirements, resolve issues, and support successful implementation.
Stakeholder Engagement & Cross-Functional Collaboration
· Support collaboration across Membership, Finance, Marketing, Technology, Membership Services, Legal, and other stakeholder groups to support successful product execution.
· Gather and synthesize stakeholder input to support informed decision-making and effective execution of product roadmap priorities.
· Support the development of business processes, operational procedures, and organizational readiness activities needed to successfully launch and maintain new membership models.
· Partner with Legal and other stakeholders to identify and address compliance considerations associated with emerging membership offerings.
· Contribute to presentations, planning materials, status updates, and stakeholder communications related to membership package initiatives.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
· Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
· 5–8 years of experience in product or program management.
· Experience supporting the development, launch, or ongoing management of customer-facing products, services, programs, or membership offerings.
· Background in scientific, academic, nonprofit, or professional membership organizations desirable.
· Experience working with membership management, customer engagement, or subscription-based business models is a plus.
Skills & Capabilities
· Strong execution focus with the ability to translate strategic objectives into actionable plans and measurable outcomes.
· Familiarity with product management principles, roadmap planning, business requirements gathering, or continuous improvement methodologies.
· Data-informed mindset with experience tracking and reporting performance metrics.
· Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare presentations, status updates, requirements documentation, and stakeholder communications.
· Ability to gather, organize, and synthesize feedback from diverse stakeholder groups into actionable recommendations.
