Our Capability, Initiatives and Operations team is currently seeking to appoint a Program Officer to support the delivery of capability programs, operational initiatives and improvement projects across the Biodiversity and Heritage Regulator.
In this role, you will coordinate project activities, undertake research and analysis, and develop clear guidance, training materials, reports and presentations to support capability development and operational improvement across the Biodiversity and Heritage Regulator. You will also assist with workshops, training and stakeholder engagement, analyse data to identify opportunities for improvement, and work collaboratively with colleagues, DCCEEW staff, external stakeholders and other government agencies to strengthen regulatory practice and deliver practical outcomes.

The Biodiversity and Heritage Regulator bring together a number of regulatory functions into a single, outcomes-focused, risk-based regulator. Our purpose is to deliver clear, consistent and fair regulation that supports positive outcomes for communities and the environment.
We administer legislation to prevent loss and reduce harm to native species and heritage by helping people to comply through licensing, education and engagement and taking enforcement action when the rules are broken. More information on the regulatory functions of the BHR can be found here.
About You
You will have experience supporting projects, programs or improvement initiatives in a regulatory, compliance or government environment, along with an understanding of regulatory practice and organisational capability. You will be confident undertaking research and analysis, coordinating project activities and developing clear, high-quality resources such as guidance materials, reports, presentations and training content. High level skills in developing and maintaining Microsoft SharePoint intranet sites would be well regarded.
You will be organised and adaptable, with the ability to manage competing priorities and translate complex technical or regulatory information into practical, easy-to-understand resources. Strong communication and collaboration skills will enable you to build productive relationships with diverse stakeholders, contribute to workshops and training, and work across teams to identify practical solutions and improve operational outcomes.
