Job Description
This is a non-merit position. Candidates must follow the instructions in the "To Apply" section. Positions in this class are exempt from the screening and referral requirements of the Iowa Department of Administrative Services - Human Resources Enterprise.
Iowa Attorney General Brenna Bird seeks a Program Planner 2 in the Victim Assistance Section to serve as the Engagement Coordinator.
The position requires the Engagement Coordinator to develop relationships with law enforcement, prosecutors, victim services, and others engaged in work that supports victims and holds offenders accountable.
The Engagement Coordinator must be willing and able to (1) Collaborate with other members of the Training and Outreach team to close the gaps in stakeholder knowledge about the Victim Assistance Section's programs; (2) Present and regularly update the basic training of Victim Assistance throughout Iowa; (3) Represent the Attorney General's Office and Victim Assistance Section at conferences and events around Iowa; (4) Assist the Strategy and Compliance manager in discretionary grant reporting and searching and applying for future discretionary grants.; (5) Maintain grant data entry for Training and Outreach activities and complete quarterly reports; (6) Conduct regular community outreach and support; (7)Work with law enforcement, prosecutors, and victim service agencies and state and local agencies across Iowa to improve training and outreach activities; (8) Modernize and routinely review Victim Assistance Section outreach materials, including brochures, pamphlets, signs, training catalog, and giveaway items; (9) Disseminate outreach materials to offices statewide and manage inventory; and (10) Completes other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements and Preferences
Candidates must be victim-centered and supportive of law enforcement, have excellent verbal and written communication skills, have experience with presenting and training, and be proficient with Microsoft Office and computers in general. The person serving in this role must be friendly and courteous, have familiarity with the criminal justice system, and a passion for helping crime victims. A successful candidate must have excellent interpersonal, teamwork, and time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. Must be willing and able to travel throughout Iowa.

Minimum Qualification Requirements
Applicants must meet at least one of the following minimum requirements to qualify for positions in this job classification:
1) Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelors degree in any field.
2) A total of four years of education and/or full-time experience, where one year of full-time experience in the administration or operation/execution (i.e., providing consultation and/or technical assistance to stakeholders, research and analysis, or enforcement of program guidelines/policies/procedures) of a program (i.e., the provision of a service or an administrative oversight/enforcement responsibility) equals thirty semester hours of accredited college or university course work in any field.
3) Current, continuous experience in the state executive branch that includes eighteen months of full-time work as a Planning Aide.
