Position Overview
IMS is seeking experienced Program Planners/Schedulers to support a leading aerospace and defense client in Melbourne, Florida.
This position is fully onsite and requires candidates to work at the client’s Melbourne facility.
The ideal candidate brings planning and scheduling experience, experience with Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS), and the ability to coordinate integrated plans and schedules across Finance, Engineering, Materials, Manufacturing, Quality, and Program Management teams.
This role supports the development, integration, and analysis of program schedules to identify risks, resolve scheduling conflicts, and provide actionable performance insights to program leadership.
An active U.S. government security clearance is mandatory.
Key Responsibilities
Integrated Program Planning & Scheduling
- Prepare, develop, coordinate, and maintain the Integrated Master Plan (IMP) and Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) to support program objectives.
- Ensure program plans and schedules are horizontally and vertically integrated across functional organizations, including Finance, Engineering, Materials, Manufacturing, and Quality.
- Coordinate schedule inputs, dependencies, and milestones across program teams.
- Support planning activities and schedule reviews to maintain alignment with program requirements and delivery commitments.
Schedule Analysis & Risk Management
- Track program plans and schedules, assess progress, and identify performance variances.
- Perform schedule risk analysis and identify potential impacts to program milestones and completion dates.
- Identify and resolve critical path issues, network logic conflicts, and scheduling constraints.
- Support mitigation and recovery planning to address schedule risks and performance concerns.
Performance Reporting & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Use Gantt charts, PERT charts, milestone charts, earned value management, and other project management techniques to assess program progress.
- Prepare schedule reports and communicate performance trends, risks, and areas requiring intervention.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to resolve scheduling issues and support informed program decisions.
- Provide program leadership with timely, accurate schedule information to help focus attention on critical activities.
Scheduling Tools & Systems
- Support program planning, schedule maintenance, and analysis using Microsoft Project.
- Use Microsoft Office applications to analyze schedule data, prepare reports, and communicate program status.
Required Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship required.
- Active U.S. government security clearance.
- Education and relevant experience in business, finance, accounting, program controls, or a related industry field, meeting one of the following combinations:
- Bachelor’s degree with at least 5 years of relevant experience.
- Master’s degree with at least 3 years of relevant experience.
- Associate degree with at least 7 years of relevant experience.
- High school diploma or GED with at least 9 years of relevant experience.
- Planning and scheduling experience.
- Experience with Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Project.
- Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.
- Availability to work fully onsite in Melbourne, Florida.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the aerospace or defense industry.
- Schedule management experience and hands-on proficiency with Microsoft Project.
- Experience working in a Microsoft Project Server environment.
- Excel macro development and Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) skills.
- Experience with Deltek Cobra.
- Experience with Deltek Acumen Risk.
- Knowledge of Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) schedule health metrics.
