Position Title: Program Planning and Controls Specialist
Position Description: Protingent Staffing has an exciting Contract - Program Planning and Controls Specialist opportunity.
Job Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) from scratch for a large-scale technical product development program
- Lead change management efforts to get cross-functional teams engaged with the schedule — gathering input, incorporating feedback quickly, and building trust in the planning process
- Track and report schedule performance metrics and communicate status clearly to leadership
- Work closely with the Program Manager, Engineers, and functional leads to drive schedule alignment
- Facilitate planning reviews and program tracking meetings
- Translate ambiguous technical scope into clear, executable schedules
- Help teams crystalize ideas and work streams into structured plans
- Identify schedule risks and interdependencies and escalate proactively
Job Qualifications:
- 6+ years of experience in program planning, scheduling, or project controls (minimum 5 years specifically in PP&C)
- Demonstrated experience building an Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) from scratch
- Strong hands-on experience with Primavera P6 or Oracle Primavera Cloud
- Strong experience with Oracle tools broadly
- Strong product development experience in a technical hardware environment
- Experience leading change management around scheduling adoption with cross-functional teams
- Strong cross-functional communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work cross-functionally with Program Managers, Engineers, and stakeholders
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment and driving alignment across teams
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to help teams crystalize ideas into clear schedules and execution plans
- Comfortable working onsite and engaging people in person
Preferred Job Qualifications:
- Experience in a startup or new venture environment is a plus
- Experience in energy, nuclear, aerospace, or other highly technical industries
- Experience supporting new product introduction (NPI) or product development programs
- Experience with schedule reporting, planning reviews, and program tracking
- Experience working in environments where speed, collaboration, and structure are all important
- Strong presence, confidence, and ability to drive conversations across multiple teams
- Track record of building planning culture on teams that previously lacked scheduling discipline
