The COLUMBIA Program is Electric Boat''s largest and most important construction program and you can be part of the team that leads it! Construction efforts on the COLUMBIA Program are ramping up, and we need exceptional people to lead the program.
The ideal candidate is well organized, an excellent communicator, thinks strategically while also being able to tactically address issues professionally. The selected candidate is a self-starter, bringing new and innovative ideas to the Groton COLUMBIA Construction Program. This position is a tremendous opportunity to learn about all functional areas of the company, while also contributing to a key enterprise need.
Responsibilities:
The selected candidate will work out in front of the production efforts to address lessons learned, reporting capabilities,and project management fundamentals to prevent challenges from becoming issues to the construction team. Cost,schedule, and attainment metrics such as IMCS Data, 3G and 7G reports are the essential tools that will be used to track performance.This is a high visibility position to shipyard and senior leadership. The successful candidate, with experience, will be expected to engage with all levels of management to report progress, seek assistance, and manage activities. Engagement will be throughout the waterfront organizations including Planning, Operations, Engineering, Purchasing,Test, Contracts, Finance, Ship''s Force, and SSGR. Overtime and travel to NNS and EB facilities at Quonset Point as needed is expected.
