Salary Range: Up to $19.39 per hour.
Job Type: Part Time, up to 19 hours per week.

Job Summary
The Sports Nutrition Program Specialist will provide hands-on experience in collegiate sports nutrition. Under the supervision of the Director of Sports Nutrition and Program Coordinator, the Program Specialist assists with nutrition education, fueling operations, and student-athlete support services for multiple varsity athletic programs.
This role is intended for early-career sports dietitians seeking advanced practical experience in NCAA Division I athletics.
Core Responsibilities
- Manages the daily operations of the department front desk counter, including but not limited to phones, emails, and other customer service duties as assigned.
- Assigns administrative phases of Sports Nutrition programs and projects, which may include supporting daily fueling station operations, including stocking, inventory management, organization, and product distribution.
- Uses initiative and independent judgment to assist administrators in individualized and team-based nutrition support related to hydration, recovery, performance fueling, supplementation, and travel nutrition, as well as decisions about Sports Nutrition programs and projects.
- Coordinates the implementation of Sports Nutrition programs. Research new program ideas.
- Creates and processes electronic documents such as purchase orders, reimbursements, and travel.
- Assist with scheduling, data collection, supplement tracking, and operational duties as assigned.
- Assists in developing educational materials, presentations, and nutrition resources for student-athletes.
- Interacts with university departments, special groups including sports medicine, strength and conditioning, and performance staff, and external agencies to coordinate resources and communicate/market programs.
- Develops and oversees the maintenance of office filing systems. Maintains complex and confidential files for administrators.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma.
- Three (3) years of related work experience.
- This position requires the ability to maintain the security and integrity of UT San Antonio and its infrastructure.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or related field.
- Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) or RD-eligible.
- Interest in collegiate sports nutrition and athlete performance.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.

Working Conditions
- Office environment. Ability to travel to and from meetings, training sessions or other business-related events. Workdays, areas, and work hours may vary based on the needs of the department.
Physical Demands
- Sedentary work; sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required, only occasionally. Exerts up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally.
This position will work primarily on campus. Travel and parking expenses are the employee's responsibility.
