DESCRIPTION:
The Nassau BOCES Department of District and Technology Services is seeking a Program Specialist I to support Data and Management Services. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Instructional Data Warehouse (IDW) Training for all public and non-public participating districts
Data Wise Coach Member for the Nassau Regional Information Center (RIC) Data Wise Course
Assisting in lead-facilitation tasks for Data Wise Course
Overseeing and managing all financials related to IDW and Data Wise services
Analyzing and interpreting National Student Clearinghouse college tracking data as well as College Board Advanced Placement data
Composing monthly newsletters for the IDW
Special data analysis projects as assigned related to the IDW
Completing projects and tasks as assigned related to Test Scoring Services and Regional Distribution Center
Collecting, organizing, and analyzing data in a variety of formats to support school improvement initiatives and educational planning
Creating and presenting workshops/professional development to a wide range of audiences
REQUIREMENTS:
New York State Education Department Certification: School District Leader (SDL) or School District Administrator (SDA)
Three (3) or more years of school administrator experience
Candidate must be detail oriented and systemically minded
Experience in administering both New York State (NYS) Grades 3-8 assessments and Regents examinations
Strong foundational knowledge of descriptive statistics, probability distributions, and data categorization
Excellent written, verbal, communication, and organizational
Extensive experience with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
School building and district financial experience such as creating requisitions, managing a budget, and reading contracts are preferred
SALARY: As per labor contract.
