MassHire Springfield Career Center is a nonprofit organization dedicated to help job seekers and employers find great job matches by providing job skills training and employment services. We are looking for a Program Specialist for our Work Participation Program. SUMMARY The Program Specialist WPP is responsible for delivery and fulfillment of the WPP and WPP Expansion Programs as it relates to the Career Center activities mandated by Department of Transitional Assistance (DTA); providing intensive case management, job placement, and ongoing supports for job retention. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Attend DTA orientation meetings and present WPP and Career Center services to new customers. Conduct information sessions and individual review sessions with customers; provide personalized job development skills and appropriate employment opportunities, evaluate work readiness and review job search activities. Maintain knowledge of all Career Center programs available for eligible members as well as programs of partner agencies and refer members to the appropriate program(s) to address needs. Perform all necessary data entry to MOSES computer system on a timely and accurate basis; document member meetings and any other member interactions. Ensure confidentiality within all areas of responsibility. Follow all procedures pertaining to the Center\'s policies while recommending changes to policies and procedures when necessary. Perform additional duties as required. KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED Bachelor\'s degree in counseling, social work, or a related human services field preferred; alternatively, three or more years of experience in counseling, human services, customer service, and/or case management. Knowledge of job search strategies, career planning, and career development is desirable. Organizational, customer service, coaching and problem-solving skills. Strong written, verbal and listening skills; proven presentation skills to facilitate information sessions. Ability to multi-task, in a fast-paced environment; ability to work with a diverse population of individuals and skill levels. Proficient with Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word and PowerPoint). Bi-lingual language skills (English/Spanish) required. Demonstrated reliability and dependability.
