Summary

This position is in Facilities Management Service, Little Rock, AR. The primary purpose of this position is to assist in the implementation and management of the IBM Maximo Asset Management system, as well as other administrative responsibilities for the service. IBM Maximo Asset Management is an asset management life cycle and workflow process management system used to manage both asset operations and business processes

Duties

Help

Your duties can include but are not limited to the following:

  • Locates and selects appropriate guidelines, references and procedures in order to plan and carry out assignments, resolve most conflicts that arise, and coordinate work with others as needed.
  • Generates memorandums, forms, reports and other correspondence, using available wordprocessing software.
  • Researches engineering invoices by verifying purchase order numbers and coordinates with Engineering Service, VISN 16 Network Contract Officer, vendors, and service contacts to reduce delinquent orders.
  • Monitors and assigns appropriate vehicles to provide transportation services to the Laundry Facility, Nutrition and Food Service, Medical Service, Nursing Service, and Medical Administration Service according to schedules established.
  • Maintains daily time sheets and processes daily time sheets for Engineering employees.
  • Monitors equipment service contracts, records, and contracts vendors as required to ensure that equipment is serviced on time in accordance with service contract specifications.
  • Produces written information, which may include technical material, that is appropriate for the intended audience.
  • Develops and maintains service and office date files and records for Engineering Service.
  • Ensures all phases of sections clerical support positions are adequately always covered.
  • Communicates clearly over the phone and in written form.
  • Maintains record in accordance with Records Control Schedule 10-1.
  • Applies training, experience, and knowledge of rules and procedures to perform a full range of clerical assignments and resolve recurring problems.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:00AM - 3:30PM (subject to change based on the needs of the facility)

Qualifications

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 05/18/2026.

Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-06 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-05. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment.

You may qualify based on your experience and/or education as described below:
  • Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-5 level in the Federal service, that equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) needed to successfully perform the duties of the position and that is typically in or related to this Program Support Assistant (OA) position to be filled. Specialized experience includes: 1) Experience in providing administrative support such as answering telephones, referring visitors, providing information; utilizing electronic systems such as word processing, spreadsheet, electronic mail, desktop publishing, calendar, database and/or graphics; 2) Experience in processing documents and reports; establishing, updating, and maintaining office files and records; 3) Experience utilizing electronic systems to gather, review, input, update, access, organize, process, and to maintain information for department functions. This experience must be supported by your resume to be creditable.
