Programmer Analyst/Configuration Specialist and Build Administrator
Location: Lansing, MI
Duration: 11 months (Hybrid)
Seeking for a Programmer Analyst to join our team as a contract resource. The specialist will manage and enhance Application Build and Release processes, focusing on automation to support continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) for testing activities. This role involves all phases of the Application Build process for applications Bridges.
Responsibilities:
Manage source code control processes, including defining standards, software baselining, versioning, and performing problem analysis and resolution.
Serve as the technical advisor and primary liaison with vendors and their technical teams.
Act as the technical expert on performance-related issues for systems utilizing Build Automation, Configuration Management, and Version Management tools.
Deploy new releases of application build, configuration, and version management software.
Provide guidance and recommendations to development staff on project administration and management.
Design and script automation workflows for efficient build and release operations.
Monitor and optimize build pipeline performance to enhance reliability and productivity.
Conduct root-cause analysis on build and deployment failures and implement corrective actions.
Other Desired Skills:
Create and update process documentation for ADO and Bridges build processes.
Perform build and deployment activities across multiple Bridges environments.
Serve as ADO (Azure DevOps) Administrator for builds and deployments.
Assess ADO and build-process issues for internal resolution or external support.
Experience with version control tools (Git, Bitbucket, etc.).
Experience with issue/work tracking systems (Jira, ADO Boards).
Proficiency in scripting languages (Perl, Shell, Python).
Required Skills:
10 years of experience in build automation, auditing, and administration of software configuration and version-management processes.
10 years of experience researching, evaluating, and recommending application software products related to configuration and version-management processes.
10 years of experience deploying new releases of application, configuration, and version-management software.
10 years of experience providing guidance and recommendations to development staff regarding project administration and management.
