Title: Programmer / Manufacturing Engineer
Shift: First Shift (Typical hours 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM, flexible based on organizational needs)
Salary: $75,000 - $125,000, plus annual profit sharing; exact compensation is dependent on skills and experience
Programmer / Manufacturing Engineer Role:
Our client is seeking a skilled professional to bridge the gap between complex CNC programming and robust manufacturing processes. This role exists to develop efficient programs, optimize machining methods, and ensure strict quality compliance to safely drive high-precision production outcomes.
Programmer / Manufacturing Engineer Responsibilities:
Utilize extensive CNC programming background to develop efficient programs for mill and lathe applications
Create and modify detailed work instructions and shop floor documentation to support production needs
Support continuous improvement through the optimization of CAM programs and development of new work holding and tooling methods
Troubleshoot production issues throughout the manufacturing process and interface with the team to optimize manufacturability
Participate in advanced quality planning and new job quoting efforts
Maintain, monitor, and report on quality, schedule, and cost performance to all stakeholders
Develop comprehensive processing and quality assurance plans for product lines
Investigate and perform root cause analysis of component non-conformances and implement effective corrective actions
Support the AS9100/ISO:9001 Quality Management System and ensure its effective implementation across the facility
Communicate effectively with operators, support staff, and leadership to maintain operational alignment
Programmer / Manufacturing Engineer Reporting Relationships:
The Programmer / Manufacturing Engineer reports directly to the Operations Manager and collaborates closely with CNC operators and quality assurance personnel. This position does not have direct supervisory reports.
About You:
Possess 5+ years of manufacturing engineering and quality assurance experience in an AS9100 or other accredited environment
Hold a BS or AS degree with a minimum of 5 years of related experience, or a minimum of 10 years of experience in a similar technical role without a degree
Demonstrate an established background in Mastercam programming alongside strong geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) interpretation skills
Exhibit a strong understanding of programming, tool selection, and machining processes, with exposure to Fanuc, Heidenhain, or Fagor controls preferred
Display proficiency with Microsoft Office products for data tracking and reporting
Maintain an openness to learning and collaborating with cross-functional shop floor teams
Demonstrate strong critical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and an acute attention to detail
Bring experience with Catia software as a preferred advantage
