Programmer - Project Lead - M365 SharePoint Online Engineer

Position is 100% ONSITE in Blythewood, SC.

• Fully Onsite – no remote work

• Candidates must currently reside in SC, NC, or GA AND be willing to relocate at least 5 days prior to the start date at their own expense.
• Fingerprinting must be completed during the onboarding process in South Carolina.

Scope Of The Project
The purpose of this engagement is to obtain a qualified SharePoint Online Administrator to plan, design, administer, modernize, and optimize the Agency's SharePoint Online sites, flows, and configuration. The SharePoint Online Administrator will merge SharePoint Online technical capabilities with Agency business goals and objectives to produce a platform for the agency to further its mission of delivering exceptional customer service and promoting effective and efficient business processes, professional employees, innovative technology, and strategic partnerships.

Daily Duties

• The SharePoint Online Administrator will report to the Server Team Manager within the Server Team.
• The SharePoint Online Administrator will work with Server Team members, Business Unit Directors, Managers, and their staff.
• The SharePoint Online Administrator will provide both front-end support to all end users and collaborate with business units to enhance functionality, governance, user experience, advanced permissions, and operational efficiency.
• This includes designing and developing intranet solutions, including custom layouts, workflows, and automation.
• Strong UI/UX design skills and the ability to create user-friendly, accessible interfaces are needed.
• This role delivers modern, scalable solutions using SharePoint Online and Microsoft 365 tools, collaborating with cross-functional teams to automate business processes, ensure secure and accessible systems, and enhance the Agency SharePoint Online tenant as new features become available and other features are deprecated.
• Ultimately, the contractor will become a champion of the capabilities of SharePoint Online, advance the Agency's understanding of what can be achieved by utilizing SharePoint Online and increase functionality and usage.

Responsibilities

• Design, administer, and maintain the functionality of sites, subsites, and links.
• Use best practices within Entra ID architecture to design, administer, and manage security groups, advanced settings, and permissions in SharePoint Online, including site permissions for streamlining owner, member, and visitor roles.
• Perform site and content permission audits as defined by the agency.
• Work with site owners to increase the functionality of departmental SharePoint Online sites and subsites.
• Manage site layout structure, content, workflows, and automation.
• Provide SharePoint Online support to end users.
• Provide functionality training to the training department and end users.
• Review and monitor usage reports.
• Clean up sites and remove unused sites.
• Create and maintain detailed documentation of SharePoint Online services and settings.
• Create and maintain detailed documentation of SharePoint Online configuration and architecture.
• Provide updates to the Project Team.
• Stay abreast of the Microsoft platform and functionality roadmap to keep the agency current.
• Manage site quotas and file size limits.
• Work collaboratively to conceptualize and integrate other Microsoft 365 applications into SharePoint Online.
• Plan, organize, review, and implement associated project milestones through completion.
• Create architecture diagrams and technology navigation maps.
• Configure and manage site collections, hubs, libraries, lists, and permissions.
• Implement and maintain governance standards, taxonomy, metadata, and content management policies.
• Manage the environment lifecycle, including provisioning, archival, and decommissioning of sites.

Required Skills

• 5+ Years of Experience with development support for SharePoint Online (Office 365), Microsoft 365 hybrid infrastructure, the Microsoft Windows platform, advanced permissions, and Entra ID.
• 5+ Years of Experience with SharePoint Framework (SPFx) to customize and integrate Microsoft 365 applications.
• 5+ Years of Experience with front-end design, user interface, and user experience.
• 5+ Years of Experience with implementing SharePoint roadmap enhancements and changes and developing technical runbooks.
• 5+ Years of Experience with creating and maintaining workflow and Power Automate configurations.
• Understanding of Microsoft SharePoint Online best practices and technical documentation.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with data governance, data governance frameworks, data policy, and policy documentation.
• Advanced knowledge of business processes.
• Strong understanding of PowerShell.

Additional Skills

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for business and technical audiences at all levels of the organization.
• Ability to stay abreast of the Microsoft development lifecycle management process.

Preferred Certifications

• Microsoft Power Platform certifications.
• Microsoft 365 certifications.

Required Education

• Bachelor’s degree in technical or business field.
• Years of experience may substitute for formal education.

The selected resource will need to successfully complete the following screenings once in onboarding: 

• 7 Year Standard Background Check & Credit History Check 
• 7-Year Certified Driving Record (MVR)
• Agency Fingerprinting - this MUST be done in South Carolina at least 5 business days before the resource starts
