About the Role:
We are thrilled to offer an exciting opportunity to join our camp as a Programming and Coding Counselor (Python). This role allows you to inspire and guide young minds in developing their coding skills and exploring the exciting world of programming. Through hands-on activities and interactive lessons, you will teach campers how to use Python for problem-solving, game development, and more.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and lead engaging programming workshops focused on Python.
- Teach fundamental coding concepts such as loops, conditionals, and functions in an accessible and fun way.
- Guide campers in creating small projects like games, animations, and data visualizations using Python.
- Foster a supportive learning environment, encouraging creativity and problem-solving.
- Provide one-on-one support to campers as they work on their coding challenges and projects.
- Collaborate with other counselors to integrate programming activities into the overall camp schedule.
- Serve as a mentor and positive role model, promoting enthusiasm for STEM and teamwork.
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Python programming and a strong understanding of coding fundamentals.
- Experience teaching or mentoring youth in coding or STEM subjects.
- Ability to create and deliver engaging lessons tailored to different age groups and skill levels.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Previous camp or teaching experience is a plus but not required.
- A passion for working with youth and fostering their curiosity in technology and innovation.
