The premises include the Mansion, the Gate Lodge, and the Garage, with beautiful gardens adjacent to Pittock Vista Point. The mission of the organization is to inspire understanding and stewardship of Portland history through Pittock Mansion, its collections, and programs. Having grown to attract approximately 90,000 annual visitors in recent years, Pittock Mansion is one of the top tourist destinations in Portland.The Programs and Marketing Intern will support the marketing and audience development staff with a variety of tasks as delineated below. Weekend and evening availability is required.MarketingSupport Marketing Director in creating social media posts and other outreach and marketing contentCreate branded materials for K-12 and public programsConduct email, phone, and other outreach to potential partners, visitors, and vendorsExperience with Canva and Adobe Suite is a plusOther duties as assignedPrograms & EventsAssist with setup and breakdown of eventsMay require moving tables, chairs, and other event itemsReview event floorplans prior to event and ensure all vendors and event equipment are set up in the correct locations.Assist with onsite vendor managementAssist vendor load in and out and guide vendors to their setup location.Support and lead weekend arts and crafts programs independently or with volunteersAssist in implementing K-12 tour programmingAssist in teaching and running youth summer camps during the following weeks: July 13-16, and August 3-6Camp duties include but are not limited to setup and takedown of camp materials, managing supplies, engaging with children, and implementing art, history, and nature-related activities.Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesAbility to follow instructions from managersStrong communication skills, with an emphasis on problem-solvingAbility to adhere to confidentiality, protocol, and community agreementsDemonstrated ability to be flexible to changing needs and requirementsPreferred ExperienceExperience working with events, community programs, or similarExperience working with youth or children in some capacityDemonstrated experience or ability to work effectively with people of diverse backgrounds and talents in a professional work environment.Physical QualificationsMust have reliable transportation to commute to and from work sites as needed.This position requires the ability to navigate uneven terrain, including stairs and hills, at this historic site.
