    Description

    We are looking for a Cost Accountant to join our team! You will be responsible for preparing and analyzing financial records for our company.

    Responsibilities:

    • Prepare and examine accounting records, financial statements, taxes, and other financial reports
    • Develop and analyze reporting for business operations and budgets
    • Perform audits, ensuring adherence to standard requirements
    • Create new processes to improve financial efficiency
    • Report analysis and findings to management team

    Qualifications:

    • Previous experience in accounting or other related fields
    • Fundamental knowledge of GAAP
    • Experience with current computer accounting programs and reporting tools
    • Detail and deadline-oriented
    • Strong analytical and problem solving skills

    What a week looks like:

    • Review budgets vs actual costs on projects
    • Set up of projects in Quick Books & Builder Trend.
    • Review and process the monthly owner requisitions.
    • Review and process subcontractor requisitions.
    • Ensure all subcontractors are complying with terms and conditions of the contract including, but not limited to insurance, billing procedures, etc.
    • Support project forecasting and processes budget updates in accordance with assigned projects.
    • Process cost transfers.
    • Work with the Owner to select invoices to be included in the weekly check run.
    • Monitor and track the cash position of the project and communicate potential risks and profitability to the Project Manager, VP of Operations, and/or VP of Finance.
    • Manage project financial closeout along with the project team. Ensure final contract amount and closeout documentation requirements have been met and agreed to by subcontractors prior to issuing final payments.
    • Ability to work with subcontractors, clients, and vendors to resolve finance-related issues and answer questions on projects such as subcontractor questions, payment issues, etc.
    • Work closely with Project Managers and Project Executives on all facets of project accounting and administration issues.
    • Perform other related duties as assigned: Payroll, Onboarding new hires, annual tag renewal etc.
