Position Overview: Project Accountant

The Project Accountant will work closely with the Controller and project managers to support financial operations tied to client engagements. This role offers a blend of accounting, analysis, and cross-functional collaboration, making it ideal for a detail-oriented Project Accountant who enjoys working directly with operational teams.

Key Responsibilities for the Project Accountant
  • Manage project billing cycles and partner with Project Managers
  • Set up and maintain project records in the accounting system
  • Generate and analyze financial reports related to projects
  • Support general accounting and cost tracking processes
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams
  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness of project financial data
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (flexible)
  • 3–5+ years of accounting experience
  • Experience in project accounting, general ledger, or public accounting
  • Strong understanding of general and cost accounting principles
  • Experience in professional services environments (engineering, construction, architecture, law firm, or CPA firm preferred)
  • Deltek Vantagepoint experience is a plus
Compensation & Benefits
  • Salary range: $75,000 – $100,000 (flexible based on experience)
  • Higher compensation potential for 6–7+ years of experience
  • Discretionary bonus (typically up to ~$2K)
  • 3 weeks PTO (negotiable based on experience)

Schedule & Work Environment
  • Compressed work week:
    • Monday–Thursday: 9-hour days
    • Friday: 4-hour day
  • Core hours:
    • M–Th: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
    • Friday: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
  • Hybrid schedule:
    • 3 days in office (Wednesday required)
    • 2 days remote (including Fridays)
    • ~13 hours remote per week
