    Description

    Project Accountant
    Location: Minneapolis, MN (On-site)
    Salary: $70,000 – $90,000

    Pathway Talent Partners is excited to partner with a leading construction firm to find a Project Accountant. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-driven, proactive accounting professional to support key financial functions across complex, fast-moving construction projects.

    About the Opportunity

    As a Project Accountant, you’ll play an important role in ensuring the financial accuracy, compliance, and performance reporting of ongoing construction jobs. You’ll work closely with project managers and operational teams, handling billing, contract compliance, and change order tracking while contributing to monthly financial reporting and WIP analysis.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Manage project billing processes, including preparation of AIA applications and progress billings

    • Track labor, material costs, and job-specific financials to ensure accurate reporting and job performance analysis

    • Maintain detailed project documentation including contracts, change orders, lien waivers, and compliance forms

    • Ensure subcontractor compliance by monitoring insurance certificates, onboarding materials, and contract terms

    • Support accounts receivable efforts by following up on outstanding invoices and assisting with collections

    • Monitor project financials and assist with monthly WIP reporting, providing key cost and revenue data

    • Collaborate with project management, field operations, and finance to ensure seamless project execution

    • Contribute to process improvements for job cost tracking and financial documentation

    What You Bring

    • 2+ years of experience in project accounting or financial coordination in construction or related industries

    • Knowledge of AIA billing, job costing, and change order management

    • Familiarity with construction contracts and compliance documentation

    • Experience using ERP or construction accounting systems (e.g., Vista by Viewpoint, Spectrum, COINS or similar)

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong command of financial reporting tools

    • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

    • Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative, solution-focused mindset
