Key Responsibilities of the Project Accountant:

Manage day-to-day billing activities and ensure invoices are accurate and processed timely
Support accounts payable and ensure vendors and other obligations are paid on time
Track project financial activity and ensure expenses are accurately coded to the appropriate jobs
Monitor project costs, revenue, and profitability and identify potential issues or variances
Review projects for potential financial concerns and proactively raise red flags when costs or profitability are trending in the wrong direction
Assist with identifying additional billable work and ensuring appropriate change orders are obtained
Enter and maintain invoice information using established Excel templates and accounting systems
Work closely with the Controller and other members of the accounting team to keep financial information accurate and up to date
Support general accounting and bookkeeping activities as needed

Qualifications of the Project Accountant:

Strong foundation in accounting principles and day-to-day accounting processes
Experience with billing, accounts payable, and/or full-charge bookkeeping
Project accounting or job costing experience is a requirement.
Experience with NetSuite, Quickbase, or another ERP/project accounting system is preferred.
