Job Description
Kforce's client, a growing organization located in the Saint Louis, MO area, is seeking a detail-oriented Project Accountant to support project-based accounting activities, accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash analysis, and month-end close. This on-site position will collaborate with project leaders and accounting team members to maintain accurate financial records, improve processes, and support timely client billing. Key Responsibilities:
- Manage project-related accounting activities, including pay-when-paid accounts payable
- Partner with project leaders to ensure accounts receivable activities are completed accurately and on time
- Collect lien waivers and prepare supporting documentation for client invoices
- Complete and present weekly cash analyses
- Process bank deposits and employee expense reimbursement reports
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations
- Assist with month-end closing procedures and the timely preparation of financial statements
- Cross-train with accounting team members to provide consistent support across business entities
- Collaborate across the organization to improve accounting processes and procedures
- Perform additional accounting duties as assigned
Requirements:
- 3-5 years of relevant accounting experience or applicable college-level coursework
- Understanding of basic financial and accounting principles
- Strong Microsoft Excel and general computer skills
- Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management abilities
- Dependable, detail-oriented, and able to manage competing priorities
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- QuickBooks experience is a plus
- Viewpoint Vista experience is required
- Construction industry experience is preferred
- A proactive mindset with an interest in continuous improvement and professional growth
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
