Project Accountant (Construction)

Location: Vancouver, WA

Job Type: Full-Time, Contract (3-6 months), Fully Onsite

Salary: $35-$43 an hour DOE

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Project Accountant to support our client's team in maintaining accurate financial records, overseeing compliance with accounting standards, and driving financial insights. This is a contract role ideal for a seasoned professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and brings a proactive approach to process improvement and reporting accuracy.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee daily accounting operations, including general ledger maintenance
  • Perform and review complex account reconciliations
  • Lead month-end and year-end closing activities
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP
  • Support internal and external audits by providing timely and accurate documentation
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial reporting
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Identify and implement improvements to accounting processes and internal controls

Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred)
  • 3+ years of relevant accounting experience, including some staff/senior-level responsibility in a construction environment (required)
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and ERP/accounting systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle)
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and leadership abilities
