The Project Analyst-Petroleum Exploration and Production Role

IPA Project Analysts meet with clients in person to collect project data and discover areas of risk. After analyzing those data using our proprietary models, the Project Analyst delivers the results in reports and presentations to provide insights and recommendations. As Project Analysts advance within IPA, the role expands to client engagement leadership, system diagnosis and consulting, training and workshop facilitation, and project data analysis and research.

The E&P Project Analyst role focuses on assessing projects and projects systems in the oil & gas industrial sector to improve the effectiveness of their capital projects. The Project Analyst will lead evaluations, with the potential to become a trusted advisor for some of the largest and most influential oil & gas companies in the world.

  • Demonstrable English language oral and written communication skills; fluency in Spanish or French is an advantage

  • Strong interpersonal skills to develop and maintain relationships at senior levels with client companies
  • Ability to thrive in a diverse environment, bridge cultural gaps, and build strong relationships across all backgrounds

Education and Experience

  • An advanced degree or equivalent in geology, geophysics, or petroleum engineering
  • 2+ years of professional oil & gas industry experience

Location and Travel

  • The position is located in Ashburn VA, and candidates must be willing to relocate within commuting distance (the Greater Washington, DC, area [DC/MD/VA])
  • This position is work from office with up to 30 percent travel, including international travel

Competitive Salary and Benefits Package

The annual base salary range for this position is $70,000 - $100,000. Compensation is negotiable and based on the candidate's qualifications and experience.
