Title: Project and Program Manager Duration: 06+ Months Contract Location: Redwood City, CA Pay Range: $90-$95/hr. on W2
Responsibilities:
Own end-to-end delivery of the phased Looker implementation and Tableau decommissioning, sequencing workstreams, defining migration waves, and managing dependencies across data engineering, analytics, platform, and business teams.
Lead global, cross-functional workstreams that accelerate the BI Strategy, ensuring program and project goals are met and teams execute on time, on budget, and to defined outcomes.
Partner with data and analytics leaders to drive report and dashboard rationalization — inventorying the existing Tableau estate, prioritizing what to migrate, rebuild, consolidate, or retire, and defining acceptance criteria for parity and cutover.
Establish and manage the migration plan across the semantic layer (LookML modeling), content migration, permissions, and data validation, coordinating closely with subject matter experts to confirm accuracy before cutover.
Focus relentlessly on execution and results: setting high standards, defining goals and plans, following through, and holding teams accountable.
Drive adoption and change management — training, enablement, communications, and community-building — so business users transition from Tableau to Looker and self-service analytics scales responsibly.
Analyze solutions from multiple angles, weigh functional and cross-functional needs, and prioritize based on fit to agreed organizational criteria.
Lead program status reporting that surfaces risks, issues, and concerns, and create and communicate the program charter, scope, and goals to stakeholders.
Baseline current reporting performance and cost, set objectives, and complete cost-benefit assessments (including licensing and total-cost-of-ownership analysis for the Tableau-to-Looker transition).
Build metrics and dashboards to measure adoption, migration progress, data quality, and process efficiency, and to validate program results.
Use business acumen to advise and influence the most senior executives, strategically driving alignment and decision-making.
Present to program steering committees with detailed, prioritized recommendations, communicating risks and status, facilitating discussion, and driving decisions.
Estimate and request funding and resources; track budget actuals and forecast spend.
Identify and engage the right stakeholders, manage expectations, and drive conflict resolution — addressing program and interpersonal conflict head-on.
Challenge the status quo and ensure program conversations drive innovative thinking.
